Quinn and I had quite the fun morning at the beach yesterday! And we didn’t get stuck in the sand, so it was a definitely a WIN for us! More on this in a second…

My day kicked off with a tasting plate full of veggies, lentils, and a scoop of a new Jalapeno Lime Almond Dip from Trader Joe’s, which added some serious flavor and heat! And I love that the ingredients are super simple – just almonds, water, lime juice, jalapenos, EVOO, salt, and potassium chloride.

Ok, so about the lentils… I know I’m so not a lentil person (how many times have you seen them on this blog?), but Mal and I recently chatted about how much meat we consume, and, well, it’s a lot, especially with regard to the environment, our budget, etc. Our family is NOT going vegetarian any time soon, but we want to cut back on how much meat we eat, so we’re incorporating more beans, lentils, and Banza pasta for added protein. We’ll see how it goes! 🙂

After breakfast, Quinn and I headed to CrossFit for a “gym day.” On the agenda was a fun, quick workout. I scaled the KB to #26 pounds since my back was a little wonky after doing approximately 1 million on Saturday. Ain’t too proud to scale! 😉

After CrossFit, I refueled with an Atlas Bar, which are my newest obsession. They’re so darn delicious with simple ingredients and more protein, less fat, and just the right amount of carbs compared to a lot of other bars on the market. I’m a big fan!

Then, we swung by Coffee Shack for a donut and iced coffee – I just couldn’t say no when Qman asked! 🙂

After that, we drove down to Duxbury Beach to meet some frioends. We were actually there the day before and my poor Subaru got stuck in the sand a couple of times. Thankfully, Mal was with me, so we were able to get out without much issue, but, man, I was nervous about driving on the beach by myself. There are lots of nice people at the beach to help you if you get stuck, but I just didn’t want to be THAT PERSON chewing up the beach for everyone else. It’s hard enough drive without the sand being a mess! Long story short, it all worked out fine, we didn’t get stuck, and Quinn and I had a fun morning at the beach!

Quinn was absolutely obsessed with this crane and played with it forever! I actually got a ton of questions about it on Instagram, so I wanted to share the details here too. It would definitely make an awesome gift for a kid!

At the beach, I drank my iced coffee and snacked on a banana. I’m really trying to practice better post-workout nutrition. It’s actually semi-stressful for your body (and hormones) NOT to eat after a workout – you gotta feed your body!

Good times with my sweet boy! I’m so happy to spend more time with him!
