Hello and happy Monday!
It was another busy weekend for us! We didn’t stop moving from Friday evening until Sunday night, and I feel like we need another weekend just to recover from our weekend!
FRIDAY was date night! Mal and I went out to dinner at Orta and had a phenomenal time. We absolutely loved our experience and we’ll definitely visit again. Meal highlights: Mussels served with (so much) bacon and tomato, Filet Mignon (Mal ordered it, but shared with me), and the Espresso Creme Brulee, which was served with malted milk crumble and sea salt & caramel gelato. OMGGGGG, it was heavenly.
SATURDAY morning kicked off with a family photo shoot with Lucie Wicker at her studio.
It was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see what she captured! (The photo below is just one that she snapped on my iPhone.)
Saturday afternoon involved a bunch of house projects. We’re hosting 15 friends + 4 babies next weekend for Friendsgiving, so we’re really trying to get our home ready for it.
Mal dominated the yard work while I worked inside. I finally hung some stuff on our walls!
Top l-r: Toddler art, Etsy print (it says “I love you more than a fat pug loves cake”), canvas photo from Gallery Direct, more Etsy prints, which will be replaced with black & white family photos from Lucie!
Later that afternoon, we visited Elizabeth and Nick and their daughter Grace for a play date, drinks, and apps. It was quite the fun way to spend a Saturday!
SUNDAY morning started with breakfast followed by more yard work for Mal and some food prep for me. I made Breakfast Potatoes, roasted acorn and butternut squash, Deconstructed Shepard’s Pie, and Crock Pot Steel-Cut Oatmeal. Meanwhile, Quinn entertained himself with a mini fan, which was hilarious and adorable at the same time.
PSA: This Vegetable Melange from Trader Joe’s makes an awesome addition to Shepard’s Pie!
After that, I headed to KFIT to help with a video and then I bought a tablecloth and some paper products for Friendsgiving. I’m also going to make some fun place cards for the table later this week!
When I returned home, Quinn was napping, and Mal told me that the two of them put away the patio furniture together. I have no idea how Mal finagled it, but I’m glad he was able to get so much done while watching a (maniac) toddler!
Later that afternoon, we watched the Patriots game at one of our friends’ houses. Wine me.
Touchdown!
Happy dance!

Friendsgiving is just the best! I love that tradition 🙂 Leading up to the day itself, with the anticipation is exciting and eventful as well!
@Katrina: Agreed! I am SO excited for Saturday!
Wow! You did have a productive weekend! I did a ton of house cleaning this weekend. Not fun but necessary!
Fun! No football for me (ok with that too lol) but I did go to the U.S. Men’s soccer game – World Cup qualifier! It was awesome! We dominated 6-1!
15 friends and 4 babies makes my heart full. Love the friendsgiving idea. My husband and I host a cooking exchange every year before Christmas. The guys watch football and drink beer while the girls bake! I love the holidays.
PS. We can commiserate with the leaf blowing. So.many.leaves!
What a busy weekend! We raked a lot of leaves, ate in and I had brunch with my best friend. I love the canvas print of you and Q, thanks for linking the shop!
I kept checking in on the game. It’s too stressful for me to watch! Quite a game. I have to say our team plays an amazing game. Just when you think it’s over….
I have a love hate relationship with the type of game the Giants and Pats played yesterday! So stressful, but love it!
Super productive! We’ve been on yardwork duty for what seems like forever now. Also, PROPS to Mal for getting that done with a toddler. I could never hahaha
swam friday with a friend, movie and a quick dinner with my daughter, saturday spin class, chores and a massage, 5k and lunch with friends and then more chores
Sounds like a really fun weekend! I had lots of house work to do since it was my first weekend at home with no plans for months! I actually missed the football games (Penn State had a bye anyway) because I was so into cleaning on Sunday! Thank goodness the Steelers won even without me watching 😉
Saturday I had lunch with my Little Guy, Mom and Sister at the Cheesecake Factory. The place was a zoo and there was a 40 minute wait. By the time we got a table my one year old was starting to loose patience. It was at that point I wished I had ordered those little suction cup pieces you use with Quinn when you’re out! Needless to say, they’ve been ordered!
I also had breakfast at a diner Sunday morning with a dear friend AND lunch at a pizzeria with another friend! Needless to say, I dined out all weekend! And we watched football! The Patriots game was a nail biter…my husband however is a Bengals fan so you can imagine the tension in our house! haha
This weekend was pretty low key for me. Lots of work done around the house, but it was nice to not have much planned!
Love your cosy jumper!! Beautiful family pic!!! He really is cut out of his dad!
Holy productive weekend batman! I don’t know how you guys manage it with a toddler! Matilda always has a way of ‘helping’ with our projects and they take 5 times as long!
I dined out at a local place called The Harmony Inn with my family on Saturday.
I did A TON of house projects because I just moved into a new house this weekend.
I watched the Steelers play yesterday and we beat the Brownies!
Friendsgiving sounds like so much fun! I haven’t done that since college.
We actually didn’t do any house projects this weekend for once, but did get lots of Christmas decorations! We also watched football all day yesterday. 🙂
I love that you have a picture that’s a nod to your blog! I need something like that in my life 🙂
Looks like you had a great weekend. We saw Spectre, went to a board games night with friends, and then I caught up on my NaNoWriMo word count. Definitely falling behind on the house projects, ha!
The photo looks great! I’m sure the rest of them will look beautiful, as well! This weekend, I did some shopping, bought two new candles at Yankee Candle (love them!) and watched Hallmark holiday movies.
Nothing like having people over to put you into high gear and get those projects done you’ve been putting off… 🙂 I’ve been going through boxes on my screened in porch that I haven’t touched since I moved almost 8 years ago…(!) Now it’s on to cleaning out closets!
I love how he has his blanket practically everywhere (even in your family photo). My daughter (9-months) is the same way! We have 4 different patterned Aden & Anais blankets that I switch out and wash and we always keep her sleeping one in her crib so it doesn’t get full of germs. Does Quinn have more than one? I’m sure someday I’ll loosen up more 🙂
Sadly I watched the Giants lose in the last 6 seconds against the Patriots this weekend. 🙁 So, so close…
Yesterday’s game was so stressful and there were quite a few questionable calls. But, the Pats still pulled out a win! 🙂
Angry orchard is such a great cider-yum! I’d recommend Crispin or Strongbow, too.
Football isn’t really my thing, but my husband loves it. He has it on all day while he does meal prep for the week on Sundays. I’m certainly not complaining about having a fridge full of food!
This weekend I started my gallery wall.

I did all three this weekend! I had lunch with a friend on Saturday, cleaned my bathroom, and watched the (crazy) Seahawks-Cards game last night!
I love that table cloth! I’ve been looking for one just like that. Would you share where you got it? Thanks!
It’s from Target!
We definitely watched a lot of football this weekend at our house. We are hosting friends to watch Friday night so will need to do some prep work for that. We always love to make a big crockpot of chili for that!
I dined out, but at some “usual suspects” kinds of places: Noodles & Company, Chipotle, and a local pizza place. All three hit the spot, though!
And I watched a bunch of college football on Saturday night – my favorite!
I didn’t dine out this weekend, but ordered some really delicious pizza in on Friday night with ALL kinds of vegetables on it.
House chores? Kept it pretty low key this weekend because I did some major cleaning the weekend before, but I did learn how to bleed our radiators. Fun stuff.
Caught the last 15 minutes of the Giants/Patriots game and turns out, that was the best part.
I’m drooling over that Esporesso Creme Brûlée. YUM. I cannot wait to see the family pictures!!
The Pats game was seriously stressful yesterday! Super fun to watch though. Friendsgiving sounds so fun!! I want to start that tradition with my friends. Happy Monday!
We are having a mini friendsgiving Sunday.
My daughter loves watching football too! When she hears the crowd yelling, she goes “YAYYYYY”.
