Getting Past the Hump

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Happy Hump Day!! I’m so antsy to get over the hump and get on with the weekend. I’m taking my hubby to Mohegan Sun for his birthday, so I just want be there and start celebrating NOW! πŸ˜›

I’m on a bagel kick lately, huh? Bagels rule.

I love these multigrain bagels. They’re from Hannaford’s, and they have sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, oats, and barley flakes in them. They also have 6g of fiber and 13 g of protein. Not too shabby, right? They do, however, have 360 calories per bagel and are made with a few hard-to-pronounce ingredients. So, they’re not the “healthiest” bagels on the market, but they’re not a bad option either. Plus, they’re delicious! And, it’s not like I eat them everyday… just twice so far this week! πŸ˜‰

I toasted my bagel and added hippy butter and banana slices to it.

I also enjoyed a glass of Birthday Cake iced coffee with soy milk. (Speaking of birthdays, my 30th is one month away! 😯 )

Feel Great Weight

Now that I work from home 4 days a week, I’ve been struggling with mindless eating. Check out my newest FGW post:Β Not Another Cookie! 3 Ways to Curb Mindless Eating.

Question of the Day

With my birthday in exactly a month and Mal’s birthday this weekend, birthdays are on my mind! So, let’s do a birthday round up this morning. I love finding birthday twins!

When is your birthday?

  1. My birthday is also June 19th! I would love to attend HLS, especially to meet all the bloggers an gain more healthy eating tips!

  2. Birthday: Jan 23: AKA: 123
no one has an excuse to forget it!

Birthday cake in a cup is much better than the birthday cake (with blue icing) ice cream I loved in middle school.

girl, you have a million comments; people are wild for the summet

  3. Dec 21st. I’ve met one person with my same birthday. There doesnt seem to be too many December babies on here either!

  4. My birthday is April 19th and I know a lot of other people (at least 6 – that’s a lot, right?!) with the same birthday including one who was born the same year as me!! And now another April 19th – #34 Tracey.

  5. July 14th, no birthday twin yet! Mohegan is a blast, you two will have so much fun! I wonder what Mal has up his sleeve for your big day πŸ™‚

  6. I love bagels too! I try to moderate them because they are so carby and usually have lots of calories, but I recently discovered the bagels at Trader Joe’s. I really like the whole wheat ones (they are full of flavor!) and they are only 240 calories! They also have mini-bagels and they are 110 calories, so they make a great treat with a honey goat cheese, a nut butter or the classic cream cheese:) Hope the suggestions come in handy!

  7. Those bagels look great! I don’t really see a difference in a big bowl of oatmeal or a bagel as a carb-base for bfast, especially the occasional one. Plus as you’ve said, there’s fiber and protein in there!!

My birthday is Feb 17th. It’s funny, I’ve seemed to meet a lot of Feb 17th-ers over the course of my life. Happy birthday to Mal, by the way! Hope you guys have a fun dinner out tonight!

  8. June 13th!! My bestfriend growing up and I had the same birthday. And I share it with Rivers Coumo too! <3

  9. Happy Birthday Mal!
I will be celebrating my half-birthday in 19 days! Half birthdays count right?? LOL
My birthday is on December 7th… turning the BIG 25 this year… half way to 50 I keep tellin myself!

  10. no one has mine yet – July 2nd. my bday twin is Richard Petty πŸ™‚
    #114 – I’d LOVE a Halloween birthday! and #190 Katie F – love it!

  11. I’m way late on this post. For whatever reason, I’ve had problems getting on your blog the past 3 days. Oh well, I had time to catch up!
PS – My bday’s on the 19th of June as well! πŸ™‚
