Fun with Food (Photos)

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Ok, maybe I’m a PC gal after all. I’m having a blast getting to know my new computer and learning all sorts of fun things. My old PC skills are coming back, slowly but surely!

For some reason, my breakfast didn’t hold off my hunger at all (lack of peanut butter?), so I reheated some Winter Lentil Soup around 10:45 this morning. Hey, when you’re hungry, you’re hungry!

Once I snapped a few photos of my lunch, I had a little fun using Picasa.

I also had some dried apricots, almonds, and a mug of chia tea with my soup.

A little while later, I made a 3-Minute Oatmeal Raisin Cookie.

Dog Breed Jewelry Project

Here’s a great gift for the dog-lover in your life!

The Dog Breed Jewelry Project makes jewelry that represents different dog breeds.  Each piece is based off the designer’s interpretation of the breed– based on size, color, and personality. As you probably know, no two are alike!

Now, you can wear your breed proudly (and beautifully), while supporting animal rescue efforts. (10% of the profits from each piece sold goes back to breed rescue organizations across the country.)

The Pug bracelet (below) is made of natural colored mother-of-pearl (fawn) and black agate beads with Swarovski crystal elements. It also has two styles of lead-safe antiqued silver pewter bead caps. The paw charm is also made of lead-safe antiqued silver-plated pewter. All bracelets are hand-made and may vary slightly within the breed. The bracelet measures 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 inches including a 1-inch extension chain. The paw charm is at the end of the extension chain.

Other breed-inspired bracelets:

There’s even more breeds on the Dog Breed Jewelry Project website.

Lots to do this afternoon! 😯

Later! 😎

  1. I need to get a photoshop type program. I see what my sisters in law do with their photos and it looks like fun.

Pretty bracelets! I love the pug colors.

  2. That’s a cute idea! I have an Erwin Pearl pug necklace and a pug ring (I know, cuh-razy pug lady) but not an interpretive piece, ha. Perhaps I should get a pug and a beagle and represent my puggle!

  3. Those shots are great – does Picasa do the Polaroid border for you? I use Picasa for my photos but I never saw an option to do that in mine…is there a newer version or is that something you did outside of the program?

  4. Those are such cute bracelets! I always get hungry wayyy before noon and usually have a big bag of veggies and hummus or something like that around 10:30. Makes my work mornings so much more enjoyable. Lunch looks delicious!

  5. I am definitely much more of a mac girl. I use a PC at work and I swear I am always having issues. :-/ That said, I do love playing around with any photo software. I’m in love with Lightroom (kind of a splurge but so awesome for editing photos) though I do have fun in Picasa as well. I love it’s ability to make fun photo collages very easily.

  6. Totally agree – when I’m hungry, I eat. There should be no time of day rule! Just like the opposite logic – if it’s lunch time and you aren’t hungry, you don’t eat just because of the time of day.

  7. Those bracelets are so cute! When I first started reading the description I automatically thought “tacky” but they are anything but! The dog in my life is a Beagle/Dalmation mix so I may just have to buy 2!

  8. just to give you a heads up. in google reader the pictures aren’t loading for me.

i want a french bulldog version of the jewelry!
