Good morning and very HAPPY Friday to you! What a week. I’m exhausted and so ready for my pajamas, couch, and a big ol’ glass of wine. I’m also very much looking forward to our coffee date this morning! 🙂

Ok, first things first… If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you (and THANK you, especially if you purchased a tank top) that we raised $665 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)!! Yayyyy! I’m still working toward my goal, so if you’d like to make a donation, here is my personal page.

Speaking of Crohn’s and Colitis, I recently stumbled upon this list of IBD blogs and just wanted to share it with those of you who might be interested.

Also related: I share my running journey with Ulcerative Colitis over on the Brooks Running blog.

Mal told me that I need to be more like The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson. I know, right? Haha! Well, the other day, I was complaining about how I have no time to work out anymore since I’m so busy with CNC and DTFN nowadays. Mal isn’t someone to listen to excuses (just one of the many reasons I love him), so his reply was: “Tina, you need to be more like The Rock.” I literally laughed out loud and then waited for him to explain. Apparently, Mal follows The Rock on Instagram, and he’ll wake up at 4/4:30 AM to fit in his workout if he knows he’s going to have a busy day. Well, ok then. Roger that, Mal. I always say (and believe!) if there’s a will, there’s a way, so I set my alarm for 4:00/4:30 AM a few days this week, so I could fit in a workout. It’s actually made quite a difference, and I don’t feel like I’m chained to my laptop all day. Of course, I’m tired, but I’ve started to go to bed a little earlier, and I assume I’ll get used to it soon enough. So, yea, I was kind of like The Rock this week. Or something? Roar.

If we were having coffee together, I would also tell you to check out this recipe for Gluten-Free Pizza Dough that I made for Chex. It’s perfect for a fall grilling! My friends at General Mills wanted me to let you know that all Chex cereals now are free of artificial preservatives. This is part of their journey to make their cereals better, and I love them for that. They really are such a great company and really listen to their customers.

When we were in Newport over the weekend, we rented The Lion King to watch with Qman. It was his first time seeing it, and, boy, did he love it. Mal and I also really enjoyed the movie and sang along to every.single.song. It’s funny how lyrics come back to you like that. I made a comment that my sister (as a kid) was absolutely obsessed with The Lion King. She basically watched it on repeat for, like, a year straight, and I pretty much know all of the songs by heart because of it. Mal had a similar experience and said it was probably the movie he watched most as a kid. Mine was definitely The Goonies, and I’m still in love with it after all these years. Fun fact: The movie debuted 31 (!!!) years ago!

I would also tell you how I eat my coconut butter. I get this question all the time from readers, so here are my favorite ways:

  • On top of sliced banana and nuked in the microwave for 20 seconds
  • Spread on toast or rice cakes with or without peanut butter/almond butter
  • On apple slices
  • On pancakes
  • Stirred into oatmeal
  • In baked goods and no-baked desserts
  • Straight from the jar

I would also tell you that I bought a buttload of Halloween candy from Boxed at a really good price. We get a decent amount of Trick-or-Treaters at our house, so I want to make sure we are prepared. Side note: I actually can’t believe I’m so on top of our Halloween candy situation this year. Usually, I wait until the very last minute and pay a TON of money for it. FYI: Boxed also now gives you free samples with every order, so that was a fun surprise when I opened the box! Smile

And, finally, I would tell you that this photo made me laugh out loud!

Question of the Day
