Hi, friends! Happy Friday to you!
We’re off to New Hampshire for the weekend to stay in a tiny house (!!), and we seriously cannot wait! The nice people from Getaway invited us for an overnight, and we just couldn’t turn it down. Hello, tiny house? Yes, please! đ Mal and I are totally obsessed with tiny houses and always joke that we’ll retire in one someday!
If you’re interested in this whole tiny house thing, Getaway has a bunch of locations around the US, and they’re super affordable – even more so when you use code CARROTSNCAKE25 to save $25 off your booking! đ But, really, the Getaway houses are perfect for just about anyone (going with a group would be so fun!), and they’re pet-friendly, so Murphy will be coming along as well. I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it!
Ok, it’s time for another edition of the Friday 5 where I recap my top favorites from the week. This one is quite the mix. I hope you enjoy it and have a wonderful weekend! đ
Mountain Pile Fleece Jacket – I know I just blogged about this jacket, but I’m so in love with it. Is that weird to love a jacket so much? Maybe? Even still, I cannot wait for it to arrive! I wanted this jacket all last year, but it was always sold out when I went to order it. It’s technically backordered right now, but only until 8/16, so I’ll definitely have it in time for fall! Woohoo!
Camo everything at Athleta – Anyone else a tad obsessed with all things camo, especially on workout gear? I can’t get enough of it, and I lovvvveee everything that Athleta is selling right now!
Cauliflower cheddar crackers – Oooh, yes! These gluten-free crackers are made from cauliflower and other real veggies, and they are insanely delicious – even Quinn eats them! We’ve been buying boxes at Whole Foods, but they’re wayyyy cheaper on Amazon!
Kids Baking Championship – The Kids Baking Championship on the Food Network has officially sucked us in! We’ve watched an episode pretty much everyday for a few weeks now, and it’s really starting to inspire Quinn in the kitchen. He recently made Rice Crispy Treats and a vanilla pudding pie. I love that he’s starting to enjoy cooking so much! đ
V-Neck Loose Fit Sleeveless Casual Tanks (from Amazon) – Even though I’m starting to shop for fall attire, I’m still in summer mode! Amazon gets me every time! I mean, they were only $16, and I honestly needed to upgrade some tanks in my wardrobe. Some of the ones I’ve worn recently are so grubby and really need to be retired. Plus, I can definitely wear these well into the fall with a cardigan or sweater over them! đ

Hi! So this is random but I think auto correct keeps changingâ Camoâ to âCameoâ in the Athleta blurb above! Haha! It should be Camo like Camouflage . Just wanted to let you know! đ
Thank you! I’m a hot mess! đ
Ahh, I love everything you’ve posted here! The fleece jacket looks so warm and it gets so frigid in the Winter sometimes, this would be an excellent jacket to have! Also, I’ve seen those crackers in the store and have always been so curious about them. Cauliflower is one of my favorite veggies, so I think it sounds great as an ingredient in crackers!
They’re SO GOOD! The whole family likes them, and they’re much healthier than Cheez-Its!
Have fun! Yes, we stayed in the cutest Asian themed tiny house in Portland, Oregon last fall and loved it!
Funnn! I can’t wait to see what it’s all about! đ
I love that Kids Baking Championship is something that I truly enjoy watching with my kids (not just something I have to pretend to enjoy!). Thanks so much for your earlier post about your anxiety. Your honesty was really refreshing and Iâm so sorry you are dealing with your anxiety again. What an awesome example of choosing to focus on the good. Have a fantastic tiny house weekend!
Haha! That’s how I feel about the show too! đ And thank you for your kind words. Anxiety is a weird thing – thankfully, I’m feeling much better today!
I love those crackers and sooo jealous of your fuzzy fall wear on the way! Have an amazing time at the tiny house…if you’e ever in the Tetons, you HAVE to stay at the Fireside Resort (Wilson, WY 6 miles west of Jackson) – they’re beautiful tiny cabins with firepits and moose within sight!
That sounds incredible!!
We stayed in one of Getaways tiny houses in NY a few years ago and it was fun!! The particular one we stayed in was very no-frills (plywood walls, nothing like tiny houses you see on tv) and the area they had them in was pretty rustic (disappointingly like an RV parkâthe tiny houses were just parked in among trees and muddy roads). I donât know ignoring theyâve done more to it since we were there.
It was still a really fun experience! My daughterâs take was âMom, I like tiny houses, but this house is TOO tinyâ
