Just wanted to share some of the frequently asked questions that I receive from readers””maybe you’ve wanted to know the answers to them too””so here are my replies!

Where are your headbands from?

They’re from JUNK, and I frickin’ love them””obviously, since I wear them ALL the time. I like the Flex Tie in size regular.

How do you eat your coconut butter?

I lovvvveee the vanilla cake batter coconut butter from Nikki’s. So much. I typically eat it straight from the jar with a spoon, but it’s also delicious melted and mixed with fruit (mashed banana, berries, microwaved apple slices), mashed into sweet potatoes, stirred into oatmeal, and incorporated into baked goods (there are lots of recipes on the Nikki’s website) as well as no-bake desserts (favorites: No-Bake Vanilla Cake Batter Bars and No-Bake Almond Joy Cookies). I also hear Nikki’s coconut butter is delicious stirred into hot coffee. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s on my agenda for as soon as the weather turns cold. Imagine vanilla cake batter with pumpkin spice coffee… OMG.

What type of bread do you use?

I pretty much buy whatever bread is on sale, so it changes from week-to-week. Right now, we have Whole Foods gluten-free white bread in the freezer as well as a loaf of whole wheat in our kitchen. I switch it up with what kind I eat depending on my mood. (I like the taste of gluten-free bread after eating it for so long.) I also eat a lot of English muffins. (I LOVE egg sandwiches!)

What do you put in your iced coffee?

At home, I typically add unsweetened or vanilla-flavored almond milk to it. When I am ordering coffee out, like at Marylou’s or 1st Stop, I get it with one sugar and soymik or (cow’s) milk.

How do you make your iced lattes?

The nice folks at Nespresso gave me one of their machines after an event, so I brew a pod of espresso with it and then add ice cubes and almond milk (and maybe a little bit of maple syrup). It takes me about 60 seconds to make an iced latte. It is SUPER easy!

What type of protein powder do you use?

I use the vanilla and chocolate Recovery (whey protein) from SFH. It’s made from high-quality ingredients, tastes delicious, and mixes well with a variety of liquids (i.e. water, iced coffee, almond milk). I don’t drink a protein shake after every workout””just the really tough ones when I feel like my muscles need a little something-something to recover.

Do you have any advice for someone who wants to try CrossFit?

I do! Check out this post, but my basic advice is: JUST GO! You won’t be sorry!

How do you make your workout images and photo collages?

I use PicMonkey, which is a free website with all sorts of funky photo editing options. You can do so much cool stuff with it!

What jogging stroller do you have and do you like it?

I have the ACTIV3 (Fitness) Stroller. It’s an awesome stroller, and I highly recommend it. Our car seat clicks right in and the stroller itself is lightweight and easy-to-use. You can use in on- or off-road by simply adjusting the suspension with the tap of your toe. (Mal thought this was especially cool.) You can also lock the front wheel and adjust the handle bar to different positions depending on your comfort and the type of workout you are doing. I’ve truly loved using this stroller, and I’ve done some seriously awesome workouts with it!

What happened to your recipe page?

Ah, yes”¦ my recipe page. A lot of you guys noticed that it went missing. Sorry about that! I actually hadn’t updated it in years, so I unpublished it because it was just so out-of-date. BUT, I am working on creating a new one, so keep a look out for it on CNC soon!
