Hey there!

Hi, friends!

Just popping in to share some photos from our morning… well, our second morning of the day. Quinn first woke up at 3:00 AM and would not go back to sleep. Mal and I tried everything to calm him down with no luck. I finally ended up taking him for a drive at 5:45 AM. Thank goodness the drive-thru Starbucks was open!

Anyway, we started our day again with a walk around Forge Pond Park with a friend and her 13-month old nephew.

It was my first time at Forge Pond Park, and I really loved it. There’s tons of space to run, walk dogs, play… we’ll definitely visit again!

We walked for about 45 minutes and then let the little guys stretch their legs and run around.

Quinn thought the soccer nets were especially interesting!

After enjoying the beautiful weather outside, we headed to The Juice Barn for smoothies and juice. It was also my first time there, and I really loved it.

The Juice Barn offers a ton of delicious and nutritious fresh juices, smoothies, (juice) shots, and snacks as well as all sorts of healthy products and supplements. It was also super kid-friendly, which was great for us since we had two active boys on our hands!

They especially loved playing with the chalkboard!

I ordered the Muscle Milk smoothie, which was banana, spinach, cocoa powder, protein powder, and almond milk. I also got a turmeric shot, which was made with turmeric, orange juice, and cayenne. Both were excellent.

Quinn had a Sunrise juice, which was carrot, mango, orange, and strawberry. He was a big fan!

I’m so glad our day improved after a rough start. I’m also really enjoying discovering new places in our area! If you’re local, I’d love to hear your favorite spots!

Questions of the Day

Would you rather…

Run or walk?

Drink a smoothie or juice?

Sleep in or wake up early?

  1. I would rather run, drink a smoothie and for sure wake up early. When I sleep in I feel like so much of the day is wasted. Sleeping in for me would be 7:30. I like getting up and going around 6:00. 🙂

  2. Truthfully, my answers are Walk, smoothie and sleep late! Although I REALLY want to say the alternative options for each question haha…
I’ve always wanted to be a natural morning person, but on the weekend my body just doesn’t naturally wake up at 6 no matter how much I want it to! I love to run, but I like walking more. And I’m still behind on the juice thing. Late bloomer, apparently!

  3. I definitely would like one of their smoothies after I got up early and ran there. I am so proud to answer all three questions in one sentence. Kids are easily entertained, making me wonder why we spend so much on fancy toys???
    have a great day

  4. I LOVE LOVE LOVE smoothies and juice, but I feel like I get a little more substance with a smoothie. I’m all about getting up early and seizing the day (but not 3am- that’s a little bananas!).

  5. Have you been to The Corner Stop in Cohassett? Its a great restuarant with a great menu, check it out! My fav is the Hippy Dippy Salad w/quinoa patty. We also love their wings. And they serve you edamame & white bean spread/hummus with bread when you sit, sooo yummy!

  6. I get made fun of all the time, but I would much rather get up early than sleep in. I feel so on top of my day, and way more productive even if I just sit up watching netflix with a cup of coffee in the morning. I just love having some peace and quiet time before everyone else is about.

  7. Forge Pond is my absolute favorite! I just discovered it about 3 weeks ago myself. I used my run keeper and it’s exactly 1 mile around (if you follow the outside path). I’ve started to do 1 mile sprints and then 3 round circuits there (repeat as many times). Would love you to post some of those!

  8. I feel strange even making this comment, but please be careful with him around soccer goals. We had a child in our area killed when one wasn’t secured properly and fell over on him. It was a huge deal in our area (of course) and soccer goal safety has been hammered into both kids and parents.

So after that downer of a comment, I’ll end by saying Quinn is so adorable!

  9. I’ve never been a fan of running.. right now my running consists of 60 second cardio bursts in between strength training sets. So walking is more my speed. I guess I just think running is so boring. Smoothies, for sure.. so nice to hide extra greens and protein in with yummy fruits. And sleep in FOR SURE. I have three-school aged kiddos so we get up early but on weekends I love just waking up whenever.
