Football Season Is Back

Hey, hey! Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Here are some photos from mine!

Q and I went to stroller bootcamp on Saturday morning. It was insanely humid and the workout was really challenging, so I was a dripping, sweaty mess by the end. It was awesome.

After stroller bootcamp, Q and I grabbed iced coffees for Mal and me and then headed home. I spent the rest of the afternoon working with a pug on my lap””just like old times.

We stayed in on Saturday night and watched the Oregon football game. Football = tasty snacks.

Q really enjoyed his first Oregon game. Check out his onesie and WubbaNub! Go Ducks go!

Sunday morning started bright and early (like most mornings). Mal made us a delicious breakfast and Murphy acted like a creep while I ate mine. (He looked so pathetic, I let him lick my plate after I finished eating.)

Sunday afternoon, Mal, Q, Murphy, and I went to our friends’ house to watch the Patriots game. There were all sorts of delicious game day eats””seriously, it was quite the spread””including wings, kielbasa, vegan lasagna, marinated steak tips, baked mac & cheese, Mexican cheese dip”¦

And German Chocolate Cake (vegan) from Skinny Bitch Bakery, which was the bomb. I ate two pieces. OMG. Yum.

Q enjoyed his first Patriots game even though they lost. Hopefully, the rest of the season will improve!

  1. That cake! What is it covered with?! It looks fancy and delicious lol. I’m so glad football season is back, but a little sad that the warm weather will be leaving us too soon. My college team is West Virginia and my NFL team is the Seahawks (both won this week!).

  2. I’m not a huge fan of football but I am of fall! Skinny B*tch bakery sounds like the bomb, only I’m not vegan! I get paleo-keto and I don’t eat sugar or carbs but rather plenty of fats.

I think you’re crazy to bring weights with you to do stroller bootcamp–crazy GOOD AND DETERMINED! I love your attitude.

  3. My favorite football team is my alma mater, Michigan State, who Oregon played on Saturday! It was a good game, despite the outcome. 🙂

For vegan desserts, I always hit up Oh She Glows. Her pumpkin pie squares are delicious!

  4. My fave vegan dessert is chocolate dipped macaroons from Peacefood Cafe in NYC. I’ve been following a vegan diet for over a month, but haven’t experimented with vegan baking yet. It’s safer not to have all those goodies around! 😉 That cake looked amazing!! I’m guessing one of your friends is vegan?

  5. OMG! Your little Q is the cutest thing! Just adorable.
We are Atlanta Falcons fans and yes they won. 🙂
I wish we had all of the food y’all did though!
I have not tried pumpkin beer. It’s really that good? My favorite is Fat Tire.

  6. Elysian Pumpkin ale is THE BOMB. If you have it out in MA, give it a try. Nice and pumpkin-y, not bitter. Delicious. And I love Peyton Manning, so I guess the Broncos by default!

  7. Unfortunately for me, I’m a Cowboys fan. Still wear the colors proudly, but it is hard to watch lately!

Haven’t had any pumpkin beer yet, planning to do a beer flight date with the hubby soon though. Have you tried Orange Shandy though? Delicious!

  8. So sad about the Pats, but it was only week one! I broke my “no pumpkin until October” rule on Saturday when I got an iced pumpkin spice coffee from Marilou’s! Yummmmm.

Looks like you had a fun weekend – and yes, Saturday was so sticky!

  9. I am a DIE HARD Chiefs fan!!! Born and raised in Kansas City with a mother and two uncles who are huge fans – they all actually went to the Super Bowl when the Chiefs won (my mom was 12 at the time). They lost… not feeling super great about this season. But they’ve never been very good since I’ve been alive so I’m used to supporting them no matter what!

  10. Sounds like a great weekend!! My team is the Dolphins, sorry 🙂 Trust me, us DolFans were just as surprised as y’all about the outcome of that game!

I haven’t had a pumpkin beer or SB pumpkin latte, but since I’m in SoFlo, I typically don’t start doing that until Oct. My pug creeps on me like that too. I always give in.

  11. Oh wowwww! That German Chocolate Cake looks incredible.

Glad you guys had a great weekend! We did some football watching around here too. My husband and family are more NFL fans. My husband is a Chicago Bears fanatic, and my dad is a Green Bay Packers cheesehead. Aaaaand I’m caught in the middle. Fun times. 😉 And we loosely follow ASU for college football!

  12. Holy jeez does that German chocolate cake look delicious! I loveeeee chocolate and coconut together – one of the best flavor combinations, in my opinion!

The Pitt Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers are my teams! Although, the Steelers almost blew a 24 point lead yesterday… but I digress lol. I had some Pumking beer this weekend for the first time, and it was really good! I love that Fall is approaching, it’s one of my favorite times of the year.

Hope you have a great Monday! Ps. Q is absolutely adorable! 🙂

  13. Love your blog! I especially enjoy seeing Murphy is still featured and loved as much as before your little one arrived! We are expecting our first child later this year and also have a cute furbaby! Showing how you balance work, fitness, husband, baby and pup are inspiring! 🙂 We enjoyed the start of football season, but our team, the Baltimore Ravens didn’t fare so well either! Here’s to better games for our teams next week!

  14. LOVE all the shots of Q during the football games — keep those around and show them to him when he’s a teenager in the same exact position staring at the Pat’s games 🙂

  15. I grew up in Colorado and was never a Broncos fan (I didn’t care much for football) but I really started getting into sports when I went to college on the East Coast and started dating a guy from Boston. I moved back to CO 2 years ago and tried really hard this last super bowl to be a Broncos fan (I gave them one chance and said that if they won I’d consider not being a traitor). Well they failed miserably at that so the East Coast has my football allegiance for life! (Basketball was never a question–I’m a diehard Celtics fan ;))

  16. Any chance you can share the vegan lasagna recipe? I had my first shipyard recently.. the best with cinnamon sugar on the edge!

  17. The Patriots are my team, too! My husband and I are a little out of place rooting for them from Alaska. Such a disappointing loss against the Dolphins. UGH.

That dip and cake look killer!
