Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots β€˜N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

I spent the entire day with these two guys:

Oh, how I missed them so. Aren’t they adorable?!? πŸ˜€

This morning, Mal and I looked at a few houses with our realtor extraordinaire. We really liked one house, but we want to see what it will cost to redo the entire kitchen. We’re having a contractor visit the house sometime this week to see what it will cost before we make an offer. I’m not getting my hopes up, but we shall see! πŸ˜‰

After house hunting for a couple of hours, Mal and I were starving. We popped by a Subway and used my gift card from the Healthy Living Summit to buy lunch. I ordered a 6-inch ham and cheese sub with lettuce, tomatoes, green bell pepper, pickles, cucumbers, and jalapeños. It hit the spot!

Mal and I also shared a bag of Sun Chips. I put a bunch in my sandwich. Love the crunch!

After lunch, we came home and took Turd for a long walk to The Fruit Center to grab some goodies for dinner.

We walked for well over an hour, so Murph took a break to cool-off with some “lawn surfing.” What a nut! πŸ˜† (Be sure to check out the video!)

For dinner, Mal and I planned a simple tapas-style meal with lots of little plates and bites. We enjoyed a “medley” of olives, roasted red peppers, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Manchego cheese and artichoke hummus.

AndΒ homemade pita chips made with seasoned salt and garlic powder.

Delicious!

We also enjoyed some white wine with dinner.

But, not just any wine, “swanky” white wine! πŸ˜‰

It was the perfect dinner to enjoy with my hubby. I feel like I’ve barely seen him lately! It was nice to catch up face-to-face.

Be sure to check back in the morning. I have a fun TNT raffle planned!

  1. I bet you missed them! I miss my family when I am super busy! But think of the “downtime” you will have after the last two weekends!! Murphy is a cutie! It makes me almost want a pug, but right now I’m just to busy to give it the right amount of love πŸ™‚

  2. My finace and I have been looking at Capes north of Boston. It’s been a lot of fun going to open houses and looking at houses. I use (and a realtor) to search out houses.

  3. Cute house! John and I are going to officially start house hunting next spring/early summer, but we’re keeping our eyes open until then. Real estate is SO EXPENSIVE in the Boston suburbs. Jeez!

I love chips in sandwiches :). Excellent choice. Oh, and your tapas spread looks delicious! I should put together meals like that more often. Perfect for summertime.

  4. My husband and I do something similar for dinner about once a week. We call them dinner tastings – usually with olives, pappadew peppers, and crostini with wine.

  5. Ha we call that barrel rolling. Peanut especially loves to do it in the winter with her coat on in piles of snow. Something must smell good under there.

That house is totally adorable and very traditional. Makes a nice first home πŸ™‚

  6. Hope you’re enjoying house hunting! My husband and I just bought a place here in downtown Chicago a few months ago… it was a long process, but we’re so happy in our new home! We looked at a million places before we found “the one”… and then there was the whole mortgage application process… it’s a little crazy!
Kitchens can be pretty pricey to update, but they do add a TON of value to your home. That house is adorable on the outside… very New England-y!

  7. Meals like that are the best kinds of meals. Wine, cheese, homemade pita chips… things to pick at. My mom pretty much eats all her meals that way!

  8. Good luck with your house hunting! We just bought an older place and had the entire kitchen + 2.5 bathrooms redone and it wasn’t as painful on the wallet as I thought it would be. I guess it all depends on whether or not your contractor can get you a good deal + how expensive (or not) the materials you choose are.
