Family Time

I spent the entire day with these two guys:

Oh, how I missed them so. Aren’t they adorable?!? ๐Ÿ˜€

This morning, Mal and I looked at a few houses with our realtor extraordinaire. We really liked one house, but we want to see what it will cost to redo the entire kitchen. We’re having a contractor visit the house sometime this week to see what it will cost before we make an offer. I’m not getting my hopes up, but we shall see! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lunch

After house hunting for a couple of hours, Mal and I were starving. We popped by a Subway and used my gift card from the Healthy Living Summit to buy lunch. I ordered a 6-inch ham and cheese sub with lettuce, tomatoes, green bell pepper, pickles, cucumbers, and jalapeรƒยฑos. It hit the spot!

Mal and I also shared a bag of Sun Chips. I put a bunch in my sandwich. Love the crunch!

After lunch, we came home and took Turd for a long walk to The Fruit Center to grab some goodies for dinner.

We walked for well over an hour, so Murph took a break to cool-off with some “lawn surfing.” What a nut! ๐Ÿ˜† (Be sure to check out the video!)

Dinner

For dinner, Mal and I planned a simple tapas-style meal with lots of little plates and bites. We enjoyed a “medley” of olives, roasted red peppers, and sun-dried tomatoes.

Manchego cheese and artichoke hummus.

Andย homemade pita chips made with seasoned salt and garlic powder.

Delicious!

We also enjoyed some white wine with dinner.

But, not just any wine, “swanky” white wine! ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was the perfect dinner to enjoy with my hubby. I feel like I’ve barely seen him lately! It was nice to catch up face-to-face.

Be sure to check back in the morning. I have a fun TNT raffle planned!

  1. Wow, that looks like the most wonderful day: family, food and fun! Doesn’t get any better than that. Your dinner looks delicious too–I always love eating spreads of a little bit of everything. Sometimes it’s just TOO hard to pick one thing, so instead it’s nice to have it all…little bits of all your favorites. Nicely done…I love reading your posts!

  2. omg too cute! Starla does the lawn surfing too, lol! Oh pugs!

  4. I am a sucker for cute houses! I also used my Subway giftcard today anddd proceded to sit at subway for the next three hours as there was Wifi nearby ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. We did antipasta dinners all the time in Germany, and I really liked it. I love to squeeze as many tastes as possible into my meal, but I don’t like to over-do it at dinner, so it’s a great solution to go “tapas style.”

P.S. I love that you added chips to your sandwich. Good stuff…

  6. Oh my goodness, first of all, that house is so cute!

Second of all, Murphy had me cracking up! I guess it’s because pugs can’t handle heat like other dogs can!

  7. LOVE the name of that wine! Good luck finding a house/being able to renovate. Kitchen is my number one…if I dont like that, then to hell with seeing the rest ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. My dog does the same thing! Though he does it on the living room rug right after dinner, so we’ve always thought it was him wiping his mouth.
And the house pictured is adorable!

  9. Snackage meals are the best, in my opinion! I always get bored when I have a big bowl of the same thing. I coudl go some manchego right now…

Also, that house is ADORABLE! Squee!

  10. This is my first comment — I found your blog recently and have been trying to catch up!

Murphy is so cute, I have a pug too! — a 7 mo. old little girl. : )

  11. hey Tina! welcome home! that house looks super adorable…..but the only thing, i promise you im not crazy, but im a worry wart, haha. I worry about you posting pictures of a house you want to get with so many people that view your blog. Sorry i don’t want to sound rude in any possible way, but safety for you and M&M come first always!

  12. What a cute pup! I love going on walks with my dog…great exercise when they don’t decide it’s time to lay in the grass. ๐Ÿ™‚ The cheese & hummus with homemade pita chips looks great, a great way to beat the heat when it’s way too hot to cook. Check out my blog for recipes and healthy living updates!

  13. Oh the joys of being home! I’m happy you’re happy with your boys :).

Also wanted to say how nice it was to meet you in person this weekend! I have no idea why you’re shy to speak in front of people, you’re wonderful, inside and out, and have so many valuable things to share. Guess that’s what the blog’s for though, huh ๐Ÿ˜‰ thank you for your part in planning the Healthy Living Summit. I had a fantastic time!

  14. Tapas dinner sounds like so much fun! You guys are so creative with meal planning ๐Ÿ˜€ Your Subway sandwich looks delicious too. ๐Ÿ˜€
