Once again our friend Mike came through big time with his cooking skillz. Last night, he and Mal put together a wonderful family feast for all of us.
On the menu: homemade lasagna with garlic bread and salad.
While the guys worked hard in the kitchen, the ladies played Yahtzee and relaxed on the couch. Yay, vacation.
It was a truly delicious dinner. Isn’t homemade lasagne and garlic bread the best?!
While we ate, the pugs watched closely for dropped bites of food.
Dessert = a bunch of cookies.
I planned to run this morning, but decided to skip it because everyone was hanging out in the kitchen while Mike cooked us breakfast, which, of course, sounded a whole lot better. Maybe I’ll fit in a run this afternoon?
My breakfast included an egg + cheese + ham sandwich on a grilled whole wheat English muffin with home fries, half of a banana, and an iced coffee with soy milk.
Now, my mom, sister, and I are heading out to do some shopping.
Feel Great Weight
Last January, I crossed the finish line of my first marathon. Tackling 26.2 miles was a major life goal for me, and I hoped that all the training would help me maintain my Feel Great Weight or even help me lose a few pounds. Instead, I gained nearly 10 pounds over the course of four months of training!
A lot of people go into marathon training thinking that they’ll lose weight and are surprised when their weight stays the same or even increases. There are many reasons why this might happen, but, for me, it was simply overestimating the amount of calories that I needed to consume during training. I ate above and beyond what I burned, which led to my weight gain.
