Mal, Murphy, and I officially said goodbye to our old apartment this morning. Technically, we’re renting it until the end of November, so we took our time moving out and tying up loose ends.
Before heading over, I ate a big ol’ breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with Swiss cheese, Garlic Gold, and diced sausage inside of a pita. The combination of flavors sort of reminded me of Ramen Noodles. Is that weird?
After breakfast, we met our former landlord for a final walk-through of the apartment. (Everything checked out!) Then, Mal and I cleaned the apartment for the new tenants, who happen to be CNC readers! š
Just when we finished cleaning, my sister met us at the apartment to take a desk that we didn’t want anymore. (She has plans to use it in her basement.) I’m just glad someone wanted it! Selling it on Craigslist was totally unsuccessful.
After about 45 minutes, we packed up the car, locked the front door, and said goodbye. It was the end of an (apartment) era.
Before we left our old neighborhood, we popped into Starbucks for a little pick-me-up. I ordered an eggnog misto (half steamed eggnog + coffee). Mmm! I’m so ready for the holidays!
Stay tuned. More to come!

They have eggnog now? I’m all over that!
What a nice post. Saying goodbye to an old apartment or house is such a big moment… so many memories… good, sad, and everything inbetween.
I think it’s awesome that CNC readers are living in your old places š
I hope you make many new memories in your new place š
I am sure it felt good to be done. I always hate when you have a few things that need to be taken care of.
Your blog reaches far- it’s funny to think that your readers are living in your old place!! Saying goodbye is always hard, but I know you’ll make plenty of wonderful memories in your new place š
Congratulations on your moving out! What a nice day.
Great post! And I love that Stonyfield water bottle… did you get it at the factory in NH?
it may be the end of one era – but it sure is the start of a wonderful new one!
How funny that readers are moving into your place! It’s a small world.
wow that is all so exciting, i’m not ready to give up my city living but do look forward to having a house one day!
It must be bittersweet being out of their for good since you mentioned not loving the new neighborhood as much as the other one.. but it’ll grow on you! š
That was a cute apartment.
Change can be so wonderful- who knows where life will take ya from here š
An eggnog misto sounds so good. I may have to swing by and get one tomorrow!
Eggs in pita, I never thought of that as a breakfast option. I like it! I hope you feel a little relief now that the “moving” phase is officially over.

@Lauren at KeepItSweet: I wasn’t ready to give up city living either, but I do enjoy owning a house.
Your starbucks drink sounds awesome! I love holiday flavored drinks. It definitely puts me in the holiday mood. That and Christmas music. š
Happy end of the apartment era š It must be nice (although I know a bit scary) to be official home owners! My boyfriend and I are just moving into the apartment era and its definitely exciting but scary, too! Hopefully all good things though!
That’s so cool you have readers moving into your old apartment. I <3 that!
It must feel so bittersweet! And I don’t think that Ramen thing is weird at all. Why would your tastebuds lie to you? š
Congrats on ending your apartment era and becoming home owners, how exciting!!
Eggnog misto sounds awesome, I think I know what my Starbucks order tomorrow will be!
Aww! What a stinkin’ adorable place! I’m sure the new place will be equally as lovely if not more.
I already wanted a pug, but with each post I want one more and more! you’re killing me over here. š
Thank you for sharing your emotions of changing the place. I am sure you will enjoy more in the new place. Your quick breakfast receipe of scrambled eggs with Swiss cheese, Garlic Gold, and diced sausage inside of a pita sounds delicious.
If you don’t mind me asking, was your apartment inside the red house? Did you have like the upstairs or the downstairs? I am just wondering because I am looking for places at the moment and a lot of the availability is in 2 family homes or the upstairs of a 2 story house. Did you like it? Thanks…sorry for the random questions š I’m ready for the holidays too, by the way!
It looks like Mal is going to vacuum the sidewalk! Lol!
@Bess @ Bess Be Fit: Yes, I liked living there.
Oh man. I miss the egg nog lattes and mistos. I’m going to have to figure this out at home š
Bye Bye apartment…hello house fun!
