Eat Your Vegetables Day

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Happy Eat Your Vegetables Day!!! (I love all of these random holidays!)

Ok, so, I didn’t start my day with vegetables, but I did enjoy one of the most delicious bowls of overnight oats. I still can’t believe it took me so long to try them.

In the mix:

  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup Mad Hectic oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup soymilk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Ground flaxseed meal
  • Walnuts
  • Dried cranberries

And, as always, I had a glass of Birthday Cake iced coffee with vanilla soymilk with my breakfast. Sadly, I’m down to my last batch of Birthday Cake coffee. I need to order more before the deal is up!

Recipe Rivalry

In honor of Eat Your Vegetables Day, voting for the USA Dry Pea and Lentil Recipe Rivalry starts today. Voting lasts through June 23rd and the first 500 voters will receive a free sample of lentils! I entered my delicious Cranberry-Walnut Lentil Bars, so feel free to vote for me! 😉

Stonyfield Barnstorming Tour

As you probably know, I’m heading to Vermont and New Hampshire at the end of the month for the Stonyfield Blogger Barnstorming Tour. During the trip, I will have the opportunity to tour a number of farms and learn all about organics. I’ll even get to milk a cow!

I’d like to share as much information as possible about my experience, so if you have a question that you would like answered about organics, please email me at by Monday, June 21. I’ll do my best to get them all answered and blog about them on CNC.

Question of the Day

If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?

P.S. I have my final Lose the Dough check-in later today! 😯

  1. The ability to stop time. That way, I could stop the world around and rest a bit more when I needed it without missing a thing! I’ve gotta think of a question for your barnstorming. I am so excited to read your entries!!

  2. Guess I should vegetables today, since it’s Eat Your Vegetables day! Maybe that will counteract the recent National Doughnut Day. (I didn’t actually eat any doughnuts, by the way, but all the talk on the radio about them made me really want them.)
I’d want the power to be invisible, I think.

  3. Hmm…either read people’s minds or be able to fly! Or being able to just produce money, that’s be pretty handy….seeing into the future maybe? Hmmm…
It’s Green Day or something in England today! It seems healthy days have become worldwide 😀

  4. Gosh… I think I’d like to have the superpower to make everyone around me feel positive about themselves. You know, like an Affirmation Vibe 😀

  5. I still need to try the overnight oat thing. I am on it. Tomorrow for sure! Yours look delicious. HHHMMM super hero power..I think I would want to be able to travel instantly. That way I can see my family more often and get from place to place without the hassle of travel! Have a great day!

  6. I STILL need to try the overnight oats thing. I keep meaning to make it but always forget….maybe tomorrow! I love the random days that there are. I will definitely be getting my veggies in this evening and have just had tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber at lunch. Will check out that lentil competition for sure.

  7. Yeah! Hahah, veggies! If I could have a superpower it would definately be to “morph”. Like in that little kid’s book series, Animorphs? Where they can turn into different animals? That would be so cool! I could be a bird and fly or a horse and run or a dolphin and swim…

  8. I bet you’ll do great on your Lose the Dough check in. Do you feel stronger/different? I voted! I love lentils and do not cook with them enough.

If I could be a superhero, I’d be the mom from The Incredibles!

  9. Everything looks great Tina, I love your blog 🙂 I read it every day.

As for powers, I would pick power of persuasion and teleportation, it would make life a lot easier… but illusion would be nice, just think, you wouldn’t have to get all dolled up or buy clothes. You could just make yourself look the way you want. Saves time and money!

  10. Your breakfast looks delish! I need to get on the oat boat…

Super hero power? Ability to heal and help others heal. Not only would it be great to have the cuts from my skin biopsies last week gone, I’d love the feeling of being able to help others heal… how awesome would that be?? Now I just need a cool super hero name 😉

  11. I’m so excited for you to go to all those farms! Can’t wait to read about it!

Hmm… I like teleportation for a superpower. I would also like to be able to close my eyes and have my hair done, makeup on, and the perfect outfit and always look put together 🙂 Oh, and to be able to talk to animals.

  12. I think my super power would defnitely be teleporting… that way I wouldn’t have to wait in lines, leave early for class to make sure I get there in time, or pay for gas!! I’d also be able to go to Trader Joes in an instant, which I’m dying to do since we don’t have any in Canada!

  13. I have been following your blog for awhile now, i love all the wonderful recipes and ideas!

But a quick question about “losing the dough” – thank you for being so honest about your weight/inchs and goals – BUT would you mind sharing your height? So often in weightloss stories people leave out their height, but that often plays a huge factor in your overall healthy weight – right?
    Thanks so much!!!

  14. i actually wrote a comic book story about what i wanted my superhero power to be, and it got published last year in this anthology called “secret identities.” in it, my character (who was a bulimic teen) got a special belt to eat whatever she wanted – but it turned out the true power of the belt was to harness the yin/yang powers of food and she fought crime/rescued people that way. you can see the trailer of my story here:

  15. I would like the power to be able to eat as many desserts as I want and to still stay healthy. I would live at the bakery if I could do this!

  16. Good luck on your last Lose the Dough check-in! I have to agree with the other commenters that want the power to heal. That would be awesome, especially if you could health the mind as well as the body.

  17. I looooove veggies. I don’t need a day to tell me to eat them! 😉 I probably go waaaaaay over the recommended servings of veggies everyday… 😀

I never like superpower questions! I can never decide. But I guess it would be awesome to be able to absorb any “superpower” or ability I like from someone else. 😀

  18. Oh perfect caramel pack – just in time for fathers day, well it might be a bit late but still perfect!

For my superpower, I would choose to be fast as the speed of light and would never had to deal with airport or long drive hassels again!
