I have no idea what happened to my motivation from this morning. Around 3:00 pm, I could not keep my eyes open. I also lacked the desire to accomplish anything else on my To Do list for the day. Usually, when I feel like this, I just push through, but, today, I decided to cut myself some slack.
So, I curled up with Murphy on the couch and watched a chick flick! š
Surprisingly, Murphy really got into the movie.
When Mal got home from work, we took Murphy for his long walk of the day. I had a package to mail, so we walked to the post office and back. Roundtrip, it took about an hour.
Dinner
Tonight, I kept dinner simple with leftover pizza from yesterday’s lunch and some roasted broccoli. I just popped my plate into the microwave and dinner was served. I love leftovers for just this reason! š
Off to look for something sweet! š

I love your computer background and Murphey’s focus on the movie. Your day actually sounds like the perfect day in preparation for the madness of the looming holiday!
I think it’s cute your computer desktop is M & m š
Hi Tina! I know your husband went to UVM, so I think he would appreciate KKD being #1.

Yay!
Your computer background is so adorable!
I hate when I get into those slumps but sometimes you just have to give in. Sounds like you did the right thing and good choice on the movie! It’s one of my favorites.
@Brooke:
I’ve found bugs in my sandwich 2 times at KKD!!
i think leftovers sometimes actually taste better, but sometimes it is nice just not having to do any work for your homemade food!
Last night was the same problem for me. I blame it on the weather š I watched 4 Christmases.. gotta love Vince Vaughn!
i love that murphy watches tv
*laughs and laughs* That first photo of Murphy watching! OMG! The bug eyes!!
Also… Australia represent š
i cut myself some slack A LOT. in her shoes is a good one – i love that it’s filmed in philly, where my hubby’s from!
Great movie!
I was in your boat tonight…quick and easy dinner, and now ready to satisfy my sweet tooth. š
Good for you for cutting yourself some slack. Everyone needs a little break now and then.
I LOVE how murphy’s eyes bulge out of his head. cracks me up every time! I saw parts of that movie while getting ready for my wedding (very random I know) but was slightly preoccupied at the time!
“When I feel bad I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good… food just makes me fatter… shoes always fit.”

I love chick flicks! And curling up on the couch š
haha…that dog is hilarious. i think i liked that movie too!
I love the picture of Murphy watching the movie! You should tell him to read the book, it’s pretty good š
I have a black pug called Gus (she’s a girl) who wears that intent TV stare every night. She’ll even pace, bark and throw herself at the TV if there’s animals on! It drives us mad!!!
I just got back from “skating” (It is *super* icy here today.) my way to the post office to pick up a package.
I cut myself some slack today too – got a mani/pedi on my lunch break!! Hey, the Holidays are stressful:)
I never fight the afternoon sleepies!!! š
Who knew pugs could be so into chick flicks? š
Ha!!! Murphy is so into it – who knew he was a lover of chick flicks!??! LOL!!
And some days are all about the slack. It is our bodies telling us we’re doing too much and need some rest.
I love the simplicity of leftovers.
I love your desktop! So cute.
That picture of your dog watching the movie just made my night š
oh my god… i just laughed so hard at the photo of murphy loving “in her shoes”. that just made my day!
Nothing wrong with watching a chick flick every once in awhile! It’s a holiday week after all!
Murphy is so adorable! š
Sometimes you just need a chick flick day! š
Love how Murphy got into the movie! Such a cutie!
I’ve been lacking motivation these days as well.. Maybe it’s the time of year?
oooooh leftover pizza has my heart š
I was up for an early client meeting today and when I got home, I had no steam left. I did some work, and took a nap. Talk about lack of motivation.
Love that desktop picture. And sometimes it just feels good to just relax and not have to worry about anything. Hope you have a good holiday!
So I have that very movie sitting on my dresser to curl up to soon!!!! I must do so! I don’t make enough time to watch DVDs and my guy really is not a movie man. It’s horrible. LOL
I usually give myself one afternoon off per week. You gotta take time to just hang out every now and then! No harm done i’m sure!
God I want a DOG! So cute. I love leftovers too, it is so much better to grab something healthy and pre-made (by YOU!) when you’re lazy or rushed than it is to go out and grab something.
The same thing happened to me yesterday – what IS that 4pm slump??? I’ve tried taking a break, but it’s a little tougher with a 7-year-old. Thanks for sharing.
I love your photos. You can make a piece of re-heated pizza look amazing!
I have been BEGGING my partner (like a child) to let us get a dog. I send her photos of dogs on Save-A-Pet hoping it will change her mind. One day… Hopefully soon! š
I honestly love all of the pictures you post of Murphy on here. I never liked pugs much until finding your blogs a few years ago and watching as Murphy went from being a puppy to the seemingly funny dog he is now.
