This afternoon, Mal and I enjoyed a leisurely Easter dinner at his parents’ home. We arrived to an amazing-smelling kitchen, the dining room table beautifully set, and appetizers waiting to be consumed. Mal and I were totally spoiled with their hospitality!

I loved that the table settings were chocolate bunnies! 😀

For Easter dinner this afternoon, it was just Mal and I and his parents. It was nice having a quiet and relaxing meal together.

While snapping photos of the dinner table, I stumbled upon a miniature copy of our wedding album that we had given Mal’s parents. Of course, I took a moment to reminisce about the best day of my life! (I’m such a cheeseball sometimes! 😉 )

Shortly after we arrived, Mal and I and his parents enjoyed a few appetizers and a glass of wine while chatting and relaxing in front of a roaring fire in the living room. It was such a lovely way to begin Easter dinner. I felt so pampered! 😉

Of course, Mal and I insisted on helping in the kitchen, but his parents were “all set” with preparing the meal. They eventually let us prepare the dressing for the salad!

The Menu for Easter Dinner:

Mache salad with feta and fennel-mustard vinaigrette

2007 Walter Hansel Sauvignon Blanc Russian River California Wine

I loved these colorful wine glasses! Mal’s step-mom had a whole set, each in a different vibrant color.

Delmonico Potatoes

Cider-Braised Ham with Apple-Onion Compote and Steamed Asparagus

Everything on my plate was so incredibly delicious!! Seriously, this meal was awe-some! There is just something about home-cooked meals, right?! The ham with the apple-onion compote was the BEST that I have ever eaten! I’m psyched that we were sent home with leftovers!

Dessert was also a special treat: Key Lime Mousse with Homemade Whipped Cream. It was creamy, light, and oh, so refreshing. It made me want summer to come right now!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter Sunday! I’m off to bed! Night, guys!

P.S. Over the course of the evening, about 7-8 Reese’s peanut butter-filled chocolate eggs were consumed, but not documented for the blog. No reason really; I just didn’t snap any photos. All ya need to know is that each one was egg-cellent! 😉
