Hi, guys!

First things first: Just a quick reminder about the Live Q&A with the Brooks Blog Ambassadors!

15-52-0817-theRun-Invite2-Twit

You can chat with me and the other Brooks blog ambassadors about all things running. You can also ask us questions in real time- anything from what’s our pre-run snack of choice to our favorite shoe to how we got into blogging. It’ll be fun! The live Q&A is set for TOMORROW night (Wednesday, 9/30) from 8-9pm EST and you can participate online at community.brooksrunning.com. I hope to see you there!

Now onto our Monday!

Quinn and I had our usual morning together… “baba” and iced coffee on the couch and then we did some chores around the house aka “missions” as Mal and I like to call them. (These “missions” work especially well when a little someone is cranky and needs a distraction!) Recently, Quinn’s favorite mission is helping me put away the silverware.

He basically just throws it into the drawer and none of it goes where it’s suppose to, but he loves doing it. And I can get the rest of the dishwasher unloaded while he’s entertained, so it’s a win-win for us! It’s also super cute to watch because he seems soooo into it. I can just see the concentration in his face. He takes his missions seriously! Haha!

After finishing our chores, it was time to eat breakfast. Our little man is doing so well with his fork and spoon!

Then, we walked Murphy.

And headed to the gym. I ran on the treadmill and did a version of the workout below. I added a 10-minute warm-up and an extra 10 minutes of 6.6/6.8 intervals, so my workout ended up being 65 minutes. I was a sweaty, disgusting mess by the end.

The Best 45-Minute Treadmill Workout

Love the treadmill (like I do)? Here are even more treadmill workouts to keep ya going!

After the gym, we swung by Trader Joe’s for a few groceries. I grabbed a bag of cranberry maple nut granola and ate approximately 4/5 of the bag. It was really good!

After that, Quinn went down for his nap. I showered and then did a little shopping online. I bought this book for Quinn because he thinks bellybuttons are hilarious, and I know he’ll love it. I can’t wait to read it to him! I also stalked this sideboard/buffet (in Twilight) online. I am totally obsessed with it, but it’s expensive, so I searched for something similar. No luck, but it’s temporarily out of stock, so maybe we’ll save up for it? Or we’ll just keep looking for a cheaper option? I dunno. It’s a tough decision because I love it so much, and I know it’ll be a piece we’ll have for a long time.

Anyway…

Quinn woke up from his nap after only about 45 minutes (he has crazy teeth coming in, so I think his mouth hurt), so we cuddled on the couch for awhile. He actually ended up falling asleep on me, which was the best thing ever. Our little maniac never stops moving and isn’t much of a cuddlier, so this made my mama heart so, so, so happy. He slept for about an hour on me and, guys, it was so nice. Back in June, I joked to Mal that all I wanted for my birthday was a nap with Quinn. It never happened, but I kept thinking about how wonderful it would be to cuddle with my little boy. And it was. So, so, so nice. It was easily the highlight of my day… maybe even my whole week.

I actually only fell asleep for 5 minutes or so because I needed to take Quinn to a doctor’s appointment, which was about an hour away. I let him sleep on the couch while I got us ready to leave, which included packing him lunch since I knew he would be hungry when he woke up. Quinn’s lunch: Half of a multigrain waffle (from Trader Joe’s), cheddar cheese shapes, two pouches (one yogurt, one fruit + veggie), veggie chips (from Stop & Shop), and green grapes from California.

After Quinn’s appointment, we walked Murphy and then fed him dinner, which again was a fun “mission” for Quinn. Here are the two of them in action!

While Quinn fed Murphy, I snacked on some veggie chips with leftover Spinach-Artichoke Dip. I made it for the Pats game last weekend and there was only a little bit left. I just couldn’t throw it away, so it made an awesome snack!

Shortly after that, it was dinnertime for Quinn. On the menu: Cottage cheese (obviously), silverdollar pancakes (from Trader Joe’s), steamed broccoli and apples, and an entire orange + a couple of slices from a second one. Apparently, oranges are the fruit of the week! I also snacked on some fruit and veggies while Quinn ate.

Dinner for me was leftover Chicken Ole with rice and green beans.

And my day concluded with a small glass of wine on the couch.

The end.
