It’s driveway day! Yay!! The pavers arrived bright and early this morning to get started on our driveway.
So long rocks and roots! Remember how bad they looked?
Ready to pave!
Of course, Murphy assumed his role as “supervisor” for the project. He hasn’t left his post on the sun porch since 8:00 AM this morning.
Oh my gosh, I am so excited about this driveway. I seriously can’t wait to see the final product in just a couple of hours. These guys are cruising right along with it!
It’s funny how excited I am about this project. If you told me 10 years ago I’d be this pumped for a new driveway, I would have thought you were crazy. At 22 years old, I would’ve went nuts about a sale at J.Crew or free shots at a bar (ok, I still get pretty psyched about those things), but now driveways, new bedding, and coconut aminos make me excited. Haha! Oooh, how things have changed!
Breakfast
This morning’s breakfast was a two-ingredient pancake with peanut butter spread on top and a glass of Dandy Blend with almond milk.
Lunch
Around 11:00, my stomach started to grumble, so I threw together an early lunch. In the mix: TJ’s turkey meatballs, Sweet Potato Slices, sautéed spinach, avocado, and Curry Spice Blend. Delish! So many favorites!
Question of the Day
Ten years ago, what made you excited? What makes you excited today?

I get super excited now a days about new kitchen gadgets. I cried when I got my Kitchen Aide Mixer!
But I was a strange young adult too and got really excited about kitchen gear back then.. especially my fondu pot, it was a party favorite!
Fun question – my first thought was – time with college friends. 10 years ago I was 25 and – for the most part – all of my friends were in Boston and we’d go out every weekend. 10 years later we’re all scattered and don’t get to see each other very often – so when we do, it’s a gigantic love fest (now with husbands and kids, too)! I had no idea how lucky I was back then to have them all so close to me, and how lucky I was every single time we’d go out. It never occurred to me that would end, and I never thought I’d be so excited to see them. So – as corny as that sounds – the amount of time with friends is something I took for granted and now when we do have plans I’m like a little kid over the holidays – SO SO SO excited that I can’t sleep for days!
For younger readers – enjoy the time with your friends! 🙂
How exciting! I remember when they did our driveway in the new house and how happy I was to have it done. It’s the little things that make you happy when you’re a homeowner. 🙂
What a neat thin to think about! It’s funy how excited it still get over the things that excited me ten years ago like Halloween and candy 🙂
I’m with you – I get sooo excited about that type of stuff. Murphy makes me laugh! Love reading about him!!
Oh gosh – ten years ago I was excited about picking out a Halloween costume and getting buttloads of free candy! This year, I’m excited about trying out new pumpkin recipes and trying not to go too sugar crazy this holiday season 🙂
I’m surprised you picked black tar! any other choice would have been better for the environment.

just sayin’
New kitchen appliances make me excited today. A Vitamix would make me very excited! 10 years ago it would probably be a new outfit {which pretty much still excites me}! Yay for the new driveway!!
My goodness do I feel old reading the ages of your readers!! What catches my attention when you show pictures of your property is how close your neighbors home is to your driveway – do you have a good relationship with them? I know as a day sleeper (work nights) I would not have loved all that equipment outside my bedroom window 1st thing this morning.
Oh man, 10 years ago…probably what made me exited was starting to rehearse for the Nutcraker Ballet, as I was in my last year of high school and dance company. Now, different things definitely excite me: weekends are more valued, seeing my family, and trying new recipes among a few.
Ten years ago, sorority/fraternity homecoming made me excited haha. I was a sophomore in college, and all I cared about was hanging with my sorority sisters. Nowadays, I’m excited to be planning for our first little one! My, how times have changed! 😉
I don’t know what I was excited about 10 years ago, I think it is when I bought my first new car! Now I’m excited to buy kitchen appliances and Coach purses. lol
Buying a new toy for my dog makes me excited. Saving money makes me excited. Buying a new kitchen appliance. And finding a great buy at a Goodwill store makes me excited
10 years ago I got excited about new Coldplay cds, anything to do with Orlando Bloom, and 8th grade graduation. Today I get excited about going out to new restaurants, having a great run, and spending time with friends/family!
Congrats on getting your driveway paved…being a home owner too I know how important getting things like that done can be! Bet your pup was happy to have all the activity finish,up!
Ten years ago I was chasing after my 1.5 year old. Now, I’m driving her everywhere. I hope it never changes. 🙂
Oh yeah…I get excited about summer trips, remodeling and spending time with my family.
Count me in for the plank challenge! Looking forward to the core workout tomorrow! My goal is to make your two-ingredient pancake sometime this week too. Must buy eggs first! 😉
Tina! I’ve been away for ages and just re-visited. Still loving the blogs, recipes and Murphy and you can count me in for the plank challenge! (Although 6 mins sounds like an awfully long plank! Can we read magazines whilst we’re at it?!)
Sure! I’ll probably do the same! 🙂
Weird to think about! Ten years ago I was 12 years old and I would get excited over hanging out with guys in a friends basement, going to the movies or mall (driven by parents) on a Friday night, middle school dances, basketball game wins, and the spring carnival…At 22 what makes me excited: weekends, concerts, the beach, cookouts with friends, and planning trips home to Massachusetts.
Murphy looks lie he takes his job serious!! My excitement of learning new things and a healthy lifestyle still excite me 10 years later!!!
