Murphy says: “Heeeeyyyyy, ladies!” š
LOL! š
After the beer tasting, Dave and Marie came over for dinner. The guys were all about grilling outside (despite the 40* weather), so we bought a bunch of “grill-ables” at the grocery store and headed back to our house for dinner and drinks.
We started with store-bought artichoke dip and Stacy’s Pita Chips. I was so hungry after the beer tasting, I chowed down!
The guys grilled-up a whole slew of food– hot dogs, marinated chicken, and Sun-dried Tomato and Basil Chicken Sausage (from the freezer).
I chose a grilled chicken sausage and added a little bit of ketchup to it. It might look gross, but it tasted pretty good!
With dinner, I enjoyed a glass of Duchesse de Bourgogne that I bought at the beer tasting earlier this afternoon.
The Duchesse de Bourgogne is a traditional Flemish red ale that is matured in oak casks. It’s nice and smooth with flavors of fruit and chocolate, but it’s not super sweet. It actually has a pretty dry finish to it. “The Duchesse” was easily my favorite beer at the tasting.
After dinner, I enjoyed a second glass. It was just too good to turn down! š
For dessert, I whipped up a batch of cookies for our guests, who requested a “not-too-healthy” goody.
My baking experiment resulted in Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Cookies. HOLY YUM! They tasted just like banana bread with chocolate chips mixed in. I downed 3 cookies within a matter of minutes– they went really well with The Duchesse! š

Hey Tina I know you are busy but when I try to buy the MyPressi Twist using the code āIceCoffeeāĀ it says āWe’re sorry you cannot purchase this product with a coupon.āĀ I really would like to buy it on sale so let me know what I am doing wrong! Thanks so much

I love your blog! and you look AMAZING in the pic in the Pool! How is your “lose the dough” going? I noticed you haven’t updated the post for 3/15/10.
Wine tastings are THE BOMB!!!!

Ahahahah LOVE that picture of Murphy!
I love the picture of the wine with Murphy in the background — he’s your guardian pug angel!
I am really impressed that the layout for your photos comes through in Google Reader. Mine look cute on the site itself, but get all wonky when it comes to reader. Do you use a plugin or just adjust the way you place the photos when you publish?
I just recently started following your blog, but I have to say that I love Murphy! As a fellow Pug parent, I love seeing him in the posts.
Those cookies look so yummy!
Have a great gym date with the husband! And Murphy is adorable, as usual.
Those cookies sounds awesome! They would be great with a little smear of peanut butter on them I think!
The Duchesse IS my favorite beer, hands down.
Tina, we have to meet one day and go “beering.” I always get such a kick out of reading your beer and wine related posts!
Enjoy the remainder of your weekend.
Reminds me of the banana bread I made the other day! Yum!
Mmm those cookies look great, I want to make them soon! Glad you had a good bbq with you friends, enjoy your sunday!
Murphy is so cute, his pictures always make me smile! Think he would be great for movies, he’s got such charisma eh!
@Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run]: There’s canola oil.

@Katy: I don’t do anything differently to my photos. Maybe you can find something in the ‘help’ section of Google?
Oh, those cookies look gooooood. I love how you adapt your recipes to both “super-healthy” and “not-too-healthy”. However, I wasn’t really expecting dog pornography when I clicked here… š š
Those cookies sound amazing!!! and that picture of Murphy made me literally LOL!
Nice cookies! Im printing out that recipe for sure!
