Dinner Out

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Mal and I had the same thing on our minds tonight: dinner out! Neither of us wanted to cook or go grocery shopping, so we decided to take advantage of the Happy Hour deal at Abby Park instead. We love the laid-back atmosphere of the restaurant, so we figured why not? We’ve been known to hang out at the bar for hours and hours as seen here and here.

From the bar menu at Abby Park, I ordered the Dip Trio, which came with Chickpea & Lemon Hummus and Olive & Sun-Dried Tomato Tapenade and served with crispy flatbread, cucumber slices, and celery sticks.

Apparently, the White Bean & Rosemary Dip that originally completed the Dip Trio went MIA. Bummer. 😕

I also ate one of Mal’s Marinated Steak Tips. My goodness, they are amazing!!

I also enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay with dinner.

When we got home, my husband requested that I make another batch of Apple Crisp, and I was more than happy to ablige! 😉 I’m tellin’ ya, it’s the easiest recipe ever!

While I threw together the Apple Crisp, M & m hung out on the couch with Big Bone, which is Murphy’s favorite toy ever. Thanks, VG!

I’m heading to bed in a few minutes. I’m off on another adventure bright and early tomorrow. It involves hanging with one of my favorite blog buddies!

  1. Oh, cant wait to read about your adventures with your blog buddies!

i’m meeting a fellow blogger today, it’s so exciting!

i think i’m going to have to try your apple crisp, just once. it sounds so AMAZING!

  2. Sometimes the urge to eat out is just overpowering! I was totally planning on making BBQ seitan tonight but Mexican food sounded too good to pass up. 🙂

  3. What a great night and ending it with apple crisp, yum! Your mom’s recipe sounds really good and super easy, must try after this weekends apple picking trip!

  4. Will need to check out this apple crisp recipe. Looks amazing! If it is easy, it’s up my alley! I am not the best baker in the world.

That Sun-dried Tomato Tapenade looks great, too! I think I may need to try to figure out my own recipe for that.
