Sadly, there was none of this today:
The rainy, icky weather didn’t let up at all today, so I hit the treadmill at the gym for my scheduled marathon training workout.
Track Workout 3
2 lap warm up, 2 X’s 1600M, 4 lap warm down, recovery should be the same amount of time it took you to run the interval
Here’s the workout that I did on the treadmill:
- 0.5 mile @ 6.0 – 6.5 mph
- 1.0 mile @ 6.7 mph (8:57 pace)
- 0.5 mile @ 6.3 mph
- 1.0 mile @ 6.9 mph (8:41 pace)
- 0.5 mile @ 6.3 mph
- 0.5 mile @ 6.5 mph
Total: 4 miles @ 36:35
I felt pretty good during this workout– not awesome, but good. I definitely challenged myself on the 1600’s, especially the second one, but I didn’t kill myself either. I just wanted to keep a steady pace and work on my negative splits. Usually, I get slower as the miles go on, so this is something that I’m trying to work on.
Dinner
Chicken leftovers = chicken salad sandwiches!
On the side, I had some Kettle Backyard BBQ chips and a couple of pickles.
I added arugula to my sandwich and lightly toasted the bread. The chicken had a subtle thyme flavor to it. Holy delicious!
After dinner, I enjoyed my favorite sweet treat. I’m in love.
The Social Network
Let me start off by saying that I’m not typically someone who gets excited about movies or wastes spends money to see them in the movie theater. I’m a “I’ll-wait-for-it-to-come-out-on-DVD” gal. But, The Social Network was different. I’ve been obsessed with it for months. Basically, I needed to see it and couldn’t wait for the DVD.
After dinner, Mal and I headed out for the “early” showing with our discounted AAA movie tickets. Did you know that you can save money on movie tickets with your AAA card? Instead of $10.50 per ticket, we only paid $7.75. Nice, right? (FYI: You need to buy the discounted tickets at your local AAA club ahead of time. Just check the website for locations.)
So, the movie was awesome! Loved it!!!
The Facebook story is incredibly interesting and, of course, I loved seeing all of the Harvard references throughout the movie. The three main actors (Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake) were excellent in their roles, especially Justin Timberlake, who really surprised me. I honestly didn’t think he’d be that great, but he played the part really well. I definitely recommend seeing this movie.
Does anyone know how accurate The Social Network movie is to the actual story? After seeing the movie, I’m very curious.
Good night, folks! 😀

Hey Tina! My friend (also my former roommate’s brother) works for facebook and talks to his buddy Mark Zuckerberg on a daily basis. He has said that it’s loosely based on what actually happened and that he understands that the movies have to be super dramatic to sell. Which it sounds like this movie has sold! 🙂
Hey, a girl that I work with who went to Harvard during the time when facebook was created did a review with the Globe with a couple other Harvard grads to talk about how accruate the movie was. Here is the link… http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/articles/2010/10/02/facebook_film_not_making_friends_with_some_harvard_grads/
Thanks for the AAA tip! I’m a AAA member–I’ll have to remember this next time I go to the movies! 😀
Ok, I’m definitely going to go see this movie now! And thanks up for the AAA tip!!
I really want to see that movie too. Mostly because I am obsessed with Social Networking (obviously). I have heard great things about it!
I’d like to see the movie too but I can wait til it’s on Netflix. Nowadays I’m way picky about what I’ll see in a theatre!
there have been about 10908932 articles about the accuracy of this movie.
I kinda want to see this too! I had no idea JT is in it though! I’m always really skeptical whenever musicians are in movies or vice versa. But I guess if he can actually act, then good for him!
It’s been cold and rainy where I live for the past few days as well. It’s depressing!
I share your philosophy on movie theaters and I almost always wait for movies to come to DVD. Gotta love Netflix!
I’ve heard them talking about this movie on the morning shows a lot and they continuously use the words “the movie producers took great liberties”… basically meaning enhanced quite a bit & made the entire thing a bit more glamorous & exciting. The actual guy commented on the movie “We only wish our lives were so exciting &cool” LOL
