Hi, friends!
Our little family enjoyed our last day of summer vacation with a visit to Hornstra Dairy Farm!
Hornstra Farm has a farm storm, which is open year-round. Inside is all sorts of fresh produce, baked goods, and dairy products, which are also offered on their home delivery trucks. Yep, that’s right. Hornstra Farm delivers their products, including milk in glass bottles, right to your home and it’s actually not that expensive. There’s just a 4-product minimum + $1.75 delivery fee, so it’s actually quite affordable. The gallons of milk are the same price as the organic ones at Trader Joe’s ($5.99), but they are fresh and not ultra-pasteurized. We’re thinking about giving the home delivery a try. How fun would that be?!
Fun fact (that I don’t think I ever shared on CNC?): My great-grandfather was a dairy farmer. He owned Dell Dale Farm in Littleton, Massachusetts for many decades, and my mom, sister, and I lived there until the early 90s. I still remember the milk in glass bottles. The chocolate was my favorite. (My mom told me “chocolate” cows made it.) I also remember the baby cows and barn cats, which, of course, my sister and I were obsessed with.
And, apparently, my love for animals has rubbed off on my son. He LOVED(!!!) the cows at Hornstra Farms!
This picture kills me! Haha!
Cow kiss!
The farm also serves handcrafted ice creams, so, obviously, we had to get some. When it comes to ice cream, I usually stick to my favorite flavor (Almond Joy), but I branched out a little yesterday and ordered a caramel-coconut-chocolate chip flavor (sorry, I forget the name), and it was delicious!
Mal and I both shared our ice cream with our little monkey. He was a big fan and kept saying “mmm” after each bite. It was so cute.
Quinn recently learned who Dada, Mama, Quinn, and Murphy are and points to each us, so he’s pointing to Mama in the photo below. Related: Quinn pointing to himself is so adorable. He doesn’t straighten his finger all the way, so it’s sort of like a hook finger and then he pushes it into his chest. So cute.
Hornstra Farm was such an adorable place, and I’m so glad we had a chance to visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Dell Dale Farms was such a big part of all of our lives growing up. I miss it
What an adorable place… and such cute pics of Q.
That ice cream flavor sounds delish!
Okay, Quinn gets cuter and cuter with each post. Didn’t think that was even possible. The photos with the cow KILL.ME.
mmm i love farm fresh ice cream!
I LOVE your little development updates on Quinn. Our little Violet was born on June 7, so a lot of the cute things he’s doing now she is, too. Right now she likes showing us where her nose, teeth and tummy are. She makes this huge jack-o-lantern grin to show off her teeth. It’s such a fun age!
The farm sounds awesome! You’ll have to let us know what you order.
Delivered milk sounds wonderful! And now I want ice cream! Lately I’ve been all about butter crunch, it was my favorite growing up!
I love that they deliver! So cool! And, I sometimes mix it up with my ice cream choice, but there is always chocolate involved!
Nice!
Caramel, almond, vanilla, coconut and chocolate…I’m just not a fruit flavoured ice cream fan!
So fun! Your ice cream sounds delicious. I usually go with cookies and cream or cookie dough, but every once and a while I’ll branch out if something sounds extra tasty.
I like mint chocolate flavour the best followed by cookies and cream 🙂
I love cookies and cream! That looks like such a fun place to visit!!
Quinn is too cute. I love the cow pictures! I feel like my son would have just grabbed the cows face hahah
Handmade icecream? YUM. Yes please. 🙂
Tina, I was wondering if you were planning on sharing your new home with us this time? I know all your readers loved hearing about home projects, and how you were inspired to decorate your other home!
Yes! Our house is still in shambles, but I’ll share with you guys soon!
Thanks for writing about this! I see the trucks driving around my town and always forget to look it up 🙂 This is so convenient!
I have to tell you, it is so fun for me to read your stories about all the new things Quinn is doing – my son is just over 18 months, and I love remembering when he hit the same milestones as I read your posts! Thanks for sharing your life with us!!
