Good morning and happy Friday! 😀 I am off from work today, so I slept in, enjoyed a yummy breakfast, and now I am gearing-up for a 9 mile run. I have never run 9 miles in a row, so this run is going to be unchartered territory!
This morning’s oatmeal was a lovely mix of wheat bran, ground flaxseed meal, vanilla hemp milk, banana, walnuts, and, of course, peanut butter. I finished off the PB jar this morning!
Approximate measurements:
- 1/3 cup dry oats
- 1/4 cup wheat bran
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed meal
- 2/3 cup vanilla hemp milk
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp chopped walnuts

Demetri Martin
Demetri Martin’s show last night was, as expected, hysterical!! And I had 2 cool Demetri Martin things happen to me yesterday!
First Cool Thing:
Yesterday afternoon at work, I was super busy, but managed to slip out after lunch for an iced coffee. While walking around Harvard Square enjoying the sunshine, I do a double-take on this guy, who looks a lot like Demetri Martin, but I walk right by him. Then it occurs to me that it is totally possible that Demetri Martin is in Harvard Square because he has a few shows in Boston. I turn around and approach him.
Our conversation:
- T: Excuse me, are you Demetri Martin?
- D: Yes.
- T: Hi, I’m Tina. (hand shake) I’m actually seeing your show tonight.
- D: Yea, I got here early.
- T: (I see that he is writing notes in a small notebook) Are you taking notes for the show tonight?
- D: Yea, I’m trying to get some ideas.
- T: Cool. Well, I will see you tonight.
- D: See you tonight. Bye.
I was so nervous while talking to him, but I tried to act cool! 😉 For being such a funny guy, he was really mellow and laid-back. Maybe he didn’t expect anyone to recognize him in Harvard Square?
Second Cool Thing:
The second cool thing that happened was at the actual comedy show. Within 5 minutes of starting his performance, Demetri recaps our brief encounter in Harvard Square and that I said I would be at his show tonight!! Crazy, right? And then he says, “Is Tina here?” Of course, I am surprised (and sort of embarrassed) and try to yell that I am at the show, but my voice didn’t carry at all and our seats were so far back that he didn’t hear me. Thinking that I was not at the show, he says, “She just made me look like a desperate psycho!” The whole thing was pretty hilarious, but I am curious what his joke could have been if he knew I was there! I feel like he would have come up with something really funny. Oh well. It was still an awesome experience and a fun story to tell!
As you can see, our seats were pretty far back. We were partway up the mezzanine level.

Ok, time to RUN!
