Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Wow! What a concert! Coldplay really knows how to put on a show! They were amazing!!!

We arrived at Great Woods (Comcast Center… whatever) a few hours before the concert, so we could tailgate. I started with an iced cold Bud Light. Not my favorite beer, but it was HOT hanging out in the parking lot!

I drank 4 beers over the course of about 4 hours. I followed them up with a lot of water, so I woke up feeling 100% this morning.

While tailgating, we made up our own version of Beruit/caps, which we called “Cooler Caps.” The friendly competition kept us entertained for a couple of hours.

Our friends brought lots of yummy munchies for the tailgate. I snacked on a few chips over the course of the afternoon.

Around dinnertime, Mal fired-up the grill.

We had lots of “grillables.” 😀

I ate a grilled veggie burger on a toasted Arnold Sandwich Thin with wasabi horseradish smeared on top. That stuff packs a punch!

Andy tried the wasabi horseradish on his wiener. (He also wanted to be on the blog! 😉 )

During our tailgate, a Qdoba promotion came driving through the parking lot.

Mal and Andy saw this promotion as the perfect opportunity to score some free stuff. They tried to convince the promotional staff to give them free t-shirts.

Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.

I tried to win some free stuff by tossing balls into Qdoba’s blow-up cactus.

I was horrible and missed every toss!

Mal wasn’t much better.

However, Andy won a bottle opener keychain. Sweet!IMG_4548.JPG

Too many Bud Lights! Ugh. Poor Mal!

Around 7:30, we headed into the venue for the concert. The opening acts were just so-so.

Coldplay was absolutely outstanding! It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen! Chris Martin is such an amazing entertainer. Holy energy!

During “Yellow,” Coldplay sent big yellow balloons filled with confetti into the crowd. There were so many of these huge, yellow balloons bouncing around– it looked so cool!

And my favorite part of the night was a “cell phone wave” followed by a cover of MJ’s “Billy Jean.” It was awesome! I’m so glad that we got it on video!

  1. The concert looks amazing. Even better is the concert space! Love those outdoor venues. Looks like you guys had a blast. The mock-Beirut is awesome too. haha.

  2. Aw, that was so cool! I haven’t been to a concert forever! And the last concert I saw at Great Woods was Pearl Jam in 2001! Now that I live in the boonies there aren’t very many big venues near me!

  3. How cool you got to see Coldplay! I saw them Sunday night in the friggin’ mud @ All Points West in Jersey City… A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Hard to really enjoy a concert when you’re like ankle deep in mud but I still had a blast!

  4. AH! Glad the show was so much fun! It will always be Great Woods. I almost got arrested there when I was a freshman in high school for underage drinking at the barenaked ladies show haha. Ahhh memories 🙂 Fun beruit game and great eats.

  5. I just discovered those Dr. Praeger’s veggie burgers… love them! They actually taste like veggies instead of meat in disguise.

  6. Hi Tina, I have been following your blog for a few months and always look forward to reading it. First time commenter though 🙂 And former Bostonian!! I love Boston I just tried the wasabi horseradish for the first time last night and thought it was funny that I saw in on your blog today. The concert looks like it was a blast!

  7. Wow, you must be pretty good at your made-up cap game to get through it and only drink 4 beers, if it’s anything like the beirut (beer-pong) that I know!

The wasabi horseradish looks great. Yum.

  8. wow! seems like you had a blast!

those veggie burgers are one of my favorite brands! they are very … different 🙂 i still want to try to make homemade veggie burgs one day!

also that wasabi horseradish stuff looks AMAZING .. i love that kick! perfect for a veggie burger!

  9. Looks like a great time. I saw Coldplay in NH a few years ago and it was amazing. They are excellent live! Glad you had a good time and enjoyed some good food, too!

    Where’s the pug??

  10. Hi Tina! I’m completely new to the whole blogging world, but I just wanted to say that I love your blog, and it played a major role in my decision to start my own! Hope the concert was a blast 🙂

  11. Hi Tina! I was one of the promotional employees for Qdoba at the concert. Thank you for writing about out Burrito Mobile in your blog! Great pics! We want to send you, Mal and Andy a “Get Naked” T-shirt! Could you let me know how I can get in contact with you? I can’t seem to find the info on the page.
Thanks! You guys were a blast!

  12. I saw Coldplay in Nashville, TN a couple of years ago and it was the best. concert. ever. But I have a special place in my heart for them. I love them! Glad you have fun!
