I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.


An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

And now CNC has a new look! Did you see it?

The current layout isn’t all that different, but I think it’s a little easier on the eyes. I thought it was a tad overwhelming before. I hope you guys like it! I’ll be updating the pages in the coming weeks””some of them haven’t been updated in more than a year!


This morning’s breakfast was a Sweet Breakfast Scramble with a scoop of sunflower butter in the mix. I also added cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and ground flaxseed meal to this batch. Best breakfast ever.

I also drank a glass of iced Dandy Blend with organic half & half.

  1. CNC was my very first blog, and I started reading it in June of 2011… lol Sooooo long ago. Haha and my blog has changed 3 times, in just over 1 year! But I’ve also moved it 3 times, so that’s why. Hopefully it’s staying how it is for a bit!

  2. I like how you changed the location of the menu. Very subtle changes. But everything looks cleaner and more organized. Can’t wait to see your updated pages! Is it weird that I like seeing all that had changed with bloggers? 🙂

  3. I’ve only been reading since 2011 but LOVE your blog. It gets my butt moving! My husband just started Crossfit and now he’s a reader too :). You rock, Tina!

  5. I’ve been reading your blog for about a year and a half. It’s the first blog I started following and I love it so much! I check it once in the morning and again in the evening. I have to say, I am a huge pumpkin fan too and have enjoyed all the pumpkin recipes you have posted. The Sweet Breakfast Scramble with pumpkin is my favorite! Keep them coming!

  6. I’ve been reading Carrots N Cake for about a year and a half. It was the first blog I started reading, and the only blog that’s stuck with me for so long. You were also the motivation to start my own blog! (As well as my motivation to train for runs longer than 5Ks, start CrossFit, the list goes on and on…) You are very much appreciated in my life, Tina! (Isn’t it weird that someone I’ve never met has had that big of an impact on my life??)

  8. I’ve been reading for a while now. I definitely remember the September 2008 layout so apparently a while is actually quite a long time! haha

    I love your current layout but the header with the pug and cupcake cracks me up – so cute!

  11. I think I started following not too long after you launched – I remember seeing a note about it on the Gamma Phi site, which was kind of funny seeing as I’ve probably only ever logged in once before! I’ve been checking in daily ever since.

  12. Wow- it’s really amazing to see how much a blog can change overtime! I’m hoping that someday I’ll get to that point- I need to create my own domain first, but I’ve only been at it for a month so I think it might still be too early for that 🙂

  14. I’ve been reading since this summer, but love the workouts, & motivation your blog gives me to get up & get going some days. I’ve started actually planning my workouts, & although life happens with two kids, a husband, running a home daycare, oh & my Daughter’s competitive dance, it helps me to schedule time in for myself.
    It may be because I’m fairly new, but I’m not noticing any changes… are they that subtle, or am I not looking in the right place? Feel like I’m playing one of those spot the differences games…
