CNC Meal Plan: Week of September 23

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Good morning and happy, happy, happy Sunday!

I took an evening flight from Baltimore back to Boston last night (there’s still one more post about Fitbloggin to come), so by the time I ate dinner, unpacked, and hung out with Mal and Murphy, I didn’t get to bed until almost midnight. I planned to sleep in this morning, but I ended up waking up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 6:30 AM. I tried to go back to sleep, but it just wasn’t happening, so I got out of bed and started meal planning for the week. (I know, I’m a weirdo, but I can’t be the only one who gets excited about meal planning, right?) I whipped out my favorite cookbooks and coupons,  made a shopping list, and, fifteen minutes later, I headed out the door to the grocery store. I figured if I got it done nice and early, it’d be quick and painless, so I didn’t even bother to change out of my sweatpants.

Grocery shopping at 7:15 AM on a Sunday morning was absolutely glorious. I had the store to myself. No lines, no wait, and I was in and out in 30 minutes.

Question of the Day

Do you ever run errands in your sweats?

I pretty much live in workout gear, so I’m usually wearing yoga pants/crops or running shorts when I’m out and about.

  1. You know, I like running errands in my workout gear but only if I haven’t worked out in it that day. I cannot stand the way a sweaty sports bra feels after a good workout. Sweaty socks are even worse!!! Maybe others don’t sweat as much as me but I usually need a fresh change of clothes or I just feel nasty!!

  2. Girl, please. I wear work clothes to the office all week, so I live in yoga pants all weekend. I can’t remember the last time I DIDN’T go in yoga pants. I’ve turned into my own worst middle-aged woman nightmare. LOL.

  3. I love meal planning too! I was up at 7 and that was the first thing I did after walking the dog.

I don’t normally wear sweats anywhere, but I did actually my workout clothes to the grocery store this morning.. and that was after an hour stair run work out. It was just too convenient to swing by on my way home this morning. I like going early when it’s still empty too.

  4. I work from home too and I hardly ever wear “normal” clothes anymore. It gets to the point where I go for a run/to the gym, and change into non-sweaty workout clothes for the rest of the day. So sweatpants to the store all the way! I actually find it quite ridiculous when I see women all dressed up or in high heels carrying grocery bags.

Can’t wait for the next Fit Blogging post!

  5. I don’t own any sweats (living in Florida) but I always wear really comfy clothes on the weekends to run errands. I wear yoga or workout type pants and some sort of a longer top and sandals. Actually, I pretty much live in those clothes all the time when I am not at work!

I like your toenail polish too! 🙂

  6. I’m jealous about the empty grocery store! Sunday mornings are THE WORST time to go grocery shopping here… You literally wait in line for 30-40 minutes. It’s so brutal that I make a point of boycotting the grocery store on Sundays. On another note, I’m excited to see Monday’s dinner.

  7. Pretty sure I only ever run my errands in sweats / gym clothes … hm. haha. Probably because I live in them. #noshame
And going during early morning on the weekends is the only way to go … otherwise the line-ups and the crazies out there at peak hours get to be a little much. Yes, you miss out on potential free samples, and you might have to ask if they have your favourite items in stock, but it’s SO worth it for the stress-free shopping.
Looks like a great week of eats!! 🙂

  8. I always run errands in my sweats. Is there any other way??? I was at the farmer’s market nad target in comfies this AM. It’s great to have the whole store to yourself. I typically shop on Mondays (my day off) because the store is much quieter and the produce is stocked. Happy Sunday!

  9. Aw, pretty color on your toes!

I used to do the 6am grocery routine on Saturdays before I got married. It was great–no lines, no screaming kids, freshly stocked shelves. Now, I tend to go mid-afternoon but must say that the early morning is the best time to go!

I always run errands in workout gear too–makes it easy to get in and out of stores quickly and comfortably!

  10. I don’t typically wear my workout gear/sweats to run errands on the weekend, however I am still all about comfort (but with some class and fashion sense). I’ve seen people at the grocery store who look like they just got out of a hot yoga class and it’s not a pretty sight. 😛 In my opinion, people need to look presentable in public (and that doesn’t mean wearing a prom dress and lathering on the make-up).

  11. I actually dislike meal planning (mostly because it’s hard to combine meals that both my husband and I like) and only do it when I’m in the mood! I managed to get it done this morning, and decided to shop before hitting the park for a workout…so I guess I occassionally shop in my workout gear too!

  12. The question is do I ever not run errands in sweats! On weekends, I typically run all my errands either right from the gym or yoga studio. If I’m at home and need to run to the store, I have no issues throwing on a hoodie to run out.

  13. Sweatpants,oh my gosh no! Never unless I lived in anartica and it was -130 degrees and I was hidden under covers. To me sweatpants are so not sexy.

  14. Yes I do. I’m in some sort of sweats/workout clothes most of the time. I teach math the first half of the day which means “nice” clothes, but then I teach dance at the end, so I’m always in a tank top and shorts when I leave. Any errands are done in those clothes – I have no shame haha!

  15. Great plan and thanks for the grocery list! I am interested in what your list cost you! Sorry if I am being too nosy, but I live in the Chicago ‘burbs and have been told our groceries are some of the highest in the country! Thanks for all your hard work.

  16. I know you gave GI issues, as do I. I stopped drinking store-bought Almond Milk (and coconut milk) b/c of the ingredient Carrageenan. It’s been linked it GI inflammation, so I make my own almond milk. It’s super easy and saves money too!

  17. I used to, but since I had children I am paranoid about appearing frumpy. So I always wear a dress to leave the house for non workout related reasons. Yes, a dress. No exceptions. Hey, I live in Texas.

  18. Hey Tina, I’ve noticed you are using your paleo cookbpols more in your weekly planning. I’ve just started trying to eat paleo and want to get some books. Any chance of you giving us your thoughts on the ones you have and whether you recommend them? Thanks 🙂

  19. Hah…of course I run errands in sweats/comfies! Yesterday, after my bikram yoga class I rinsed off at the studio and put on clean yoga pants! I love meal planning too, but sometimes I’m lazy with it, I used the browse method yesterday since I had some free time and lots of my favorites are still in season somewhst locally, they won’t be for long!
