At A Store Near You

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

LOOK what I found at Barnes & Noble last night!!!

Holy crap! My book is on shelves! Apparently, it was released early!?!

I thought maybe the folks that preordered my book received them before the May 3rd release date, but my book is popping up at stores all over the place, including Anchorage, AK, Concord, MA, and Arlington, VA. So cool!

My publisher has a relationship with Barnes & Noble, so you can find my book on shelves in the Health section, but you can also order it online.

Last Night’s Dinner

Last night, Mal and I planned to break out the grill to cook hamburgers on our back deck, but, by the time he brought the grill up from the basement and cleaned it, it was raining pretty hard. Boo. So, we cooked them inside on the stove top.

I had my burger on a toasted Everything Bagel Thin with cheddar cheese, relish, and a pickle. On the side: kale chips!

For dessert, Mal and I shared a caramel apple that the Easter Bunny gave me.

We murdered it.

This morning’s breakfast was fresh fruit with a leftover blueberry muffin from Easter brunch with peanut butter spread on top. A little while later, I enjoyed an iced coffee with soy milk.

Last night, I participated in my first ever Twitter chat– about running!

On the second and fourth Sunday of each month, #runchat is co-moderated by Scott from iRunnerBlog and David from RunningBecauseICan. Anyone (with a Twitter account) can participate and all things running-related are discussed. If you want to learn more, check out the FAQs about #runchat.

So, I absolutely loved #runchat!! As you know, I love talking about running and learning from other runners, so #runchat was a great way to do it. The hour totally flew by for me! I could have chatted all night!

Question of the Day

What subject could you talk for hours and hours and never get bored?

  1. I got your book in the mail last Sunday (kind of weird that it was on a Sunday). I read it all in one day. I LOVED it! It was so interesting reading your story & your tips, & it was a huge motivator. Great job, Tina! 🙂

  2. I found my book at Barnes & Noble last Thursday, but the book I preordered to give to my BF’s mom hasn’t arrived yet! Weird, right? In any case, I loved it! I thought it was very approachable and fun. And I can definitely relate to the sweet tooth struggles you mentioned. I’m leaving my copy with my dad so he can pass it around to the ladies in his office!

  3. Congrat’s on the early releasal of your book!!! So cool!

Runchat?! I didn’t know there was a such thing. I think you’ll be seeing me (Stylish1z) participating in the next chat! Woot woot! Hope you had a great weekend!

  4. That must be such an awesome feeling to see your book in stores! I’ll have to go check today to see if it’s out at my store. 😀

I could talk about nutrition for hours and hours! Good thing I’m going into nutrition as a career!

  5. Awww, I’m so happy for you! That’s exciting…I can’t imagine how amazing that must feel after all that work of writing it! Congratulations Tina!

  6. Congratulations! That’s so exciting to actually see it on the shelves and I can’t wait to get mine this week…

As for a topic I could talk forever about, it’d definitely be food, specifically desserts. Healthy or not, I think in sugar and really good food is my love 🙂

  7. I’m totally going to check out the run chat on twitter. That sounds like such an awesome idea.

Congrats on your book! So, awesome. I need to stop by my barnes and noble and see if it’s there yet.

  8. Mmmm…burgers. I was totally craving one with the warm weather this weekend! I could talk for hours about food/baking and never get bored!

  9. I could talk about most of my favorite television shows for hours and hours and never get bored. I could also talk about ancient Latin and Greek for hours and hours and especially the time during the Roman Empire’s foundation but I have a feeling the people I’m talking to would get bored.

  10. SO cool about your book! I will have to get to BN and look for it! I could talk about barre fitness classes all day — and I do.

  11. Congrats! I just got my copy at B&N. It wasn’t out so they went and got it from the back and I watched the guy put a stack of them onto the new arrivals table. 🙂 I jogged up to the bookstore and read a little while eating a mini cupcake from the bakery next door. Your book was the perfect fit for my day’s activities haha.

  12. I got the book and finished it in less than 24 hours!!! I loved all of your personal touches, recipes and tips. Awesome job 🙂

  13. Yay for your book hitting the shelves! I can’t imagine the feeling of seeing your own work sitting among a whole host of books. Exciting!
I could honestly talk about nutrition and celebrity gossip all day long! LOL!
