What is it with dogs and big sticks?!? Check out the huge-ass stick that Murphy found in the backyard last night! 😆
Little did the pug know that his stick would soon become wood for our fireplace.
He was pretty upset when “Dad” broke it into kindling.
Murphy actually sat and whined about his stick for a good 30 minutes. (It was really annoying.) Eventually, he grabbed a small piece and ran off into the bedroom to make a mess chew it. I’m glad that his whole night wasn’t ruined.
During all of the “stick drama,” I tidied-up our house, turned on the holiday music, and lite some votive candles on the mantel.
I love the holidays! 😀
Meanwhile, Mal built a fire.
Then, we kicked back and watched the Oregon football game.
Did you hear that they’re going to the National Championship!?! Mal is so psyched!
While I watched the game with Mal, I drank a beer.
FYI: Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale is not very good. It sounded like an interesting beer (“Brown Ale matured on Madagascar vanilla beans and bourbon barrels”), but it just tasted weird””artificial, I guess. The vanilla flavor didn’t seem to “mesh” well.
About an hour later, Dave and Marie arrived for dinner. Fondue was on the menu!
With the fondue, we had steamed broccoli.
French bread and kielbasa.
Yuuummmmm!

After dinner, Marie and I broke open a bottle of champagne”¦ and drank the whole thing.
Hey, it was really good champagne! 😉
We also enjoyed some snowman sugar cookies for dessert.
