This week’s featured cookbook is Real Simple Best Recipes: Easy, Delicious Meals. I’ve already professed my love for this cookbook on CNC, so I was psyched to break it out for my Cookbook Challenge.


The first recipe that picked to make is already a favorite in our household. We actually call it “Mal’s Chili” because it was such a hit the first time that he made it and, of course, we gave all of the credit to him. The recipe is actually called Chili for a Crowd and it is awesome! πŸ˜€


The secret/special ingredient is two 12-ounce beers.

I used my new crock pot for the chili, which made a “real simple” recipe even easier. Crock pots rule!

I love that this recipe is super chunky and has a bit of a spicy kick to it. The beer also adds a nice flavor. What can I say, I’m a beer gal! πŸ˜‰


Definitely a must-try recipe– perhaps for football Sunday?!? πŸ˜€
