This evening, I enjoyed the most amazing meal at Myers + Chang. But, I am just too exhausted to give it a proper review tonight. It really deserves a detailed blog post to demonstrate its awesomeness.
In addition to the incredibly delicious and interesting food, the highlight of the evening was meeting and chatting with Joanne Chang herself! So cool!
Mal actually arranged the introduction and photo opportunity because Beth and I were too nervous to inquire about meeting the famous chef. I love my husband!
After dinner, we demolished the cupcakes from Sweet. They were so, so, so scrumptious!
We agreed that our favorite flavors of the evening were the Snickerdoodle, Bananas Foster, and Buttermilk Pancake cupcakes. Beth also really loved the Buttered Orange Cider cupcake, and I went ga-ga over the cream cheese frosting from the Karat Cake cupcake. Mmmmm!
I have my Lose the Dough check-in tomorrow morning at Healthworks. Eek! šÆ All of this dining out might be a problem! š

What kind of food do you feed Murphy?
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul.
As a registered entrant of the 2010 Boston Marathon, I want to know, do you go out on Patriot’s Day and cheer on the marathoners?
Of course! It’s one of my favorite days of the year! Check out my 2009 recap.
What did you study in grad school?
My Master’s degree is in Higher Education Administration.
I really like your style! Do you have any fashion tips?
Check out my post about Dressing Stylish on a Budget.
I know you’ve shared what kind of sports bra you like, but what is your favorite brand of regular bras? Like you, I am smaller but with a bigger bust, so finding perfect fitting bras is tough!
My favorite bra is the Prima Donna Satin Bra Plunge. I buy mine at Intimacy of Boston, but it’s sold at other places as well.

I wish those cupcakes were in my belly… lucky! hah
I could absolutely eat about 5 cupcakes right now. Especially Snickerdoodle which sounds very interesting!
Have a great night!
Those cupcakes look SO fantastic! It looks like you guys have been amazing tour guides for your friends during their stay!
Hi Tina!
I’m a college student and follow your blog almost religiously! When I’m not really feeling a desire to eat dining hall food etc, your blog inspires me to try new creatinons! Also, I go to school in Cambridge, so it’s really exciting to see you document your visits to places I hang out at in the Square (or walk past, seeing as I am on a student’s budget…)
I will take one of each cupcake please!! Just kidding (;
How awesome that you got to meet a famous chef and your sweet hubby helped out too š
Yum cupcakes….
i’d be interested to hear more about your graduate degree. i’ve thought about perusing higher ed admin as i work with college students in my current job. was yours more of the psychology or admin approach? i’ve heard HEA fields can be one of two tracks. were you happy with your degree program?
Just wanted to say the best bras for a small body and a bigger cup size is La Perla. They are an investment but WORTH IT! I buy mine at la mode lingerie in Houston. http://www.lamodelingerie.com. I wear a 32 D and would not buy any other bra. It literally makes a t-shirt look like a million dollars!
I love the sound of the Buttered Orange Cider cupcakes. Any idea how they were made and what was in them? What type of frosting was used?
G’luck tomorrow at Healthworks.
the cupcakes look so amazing and i’m glad to see they got demolished properly š
I’m really excited for your LTD check-in tomorrow.
I love reading the various questions at the end of each post now.
Keep doing what you’re doing Tina. I LOVE your blog!
Hhaha I love how you’ve cut off chunks of every cupcake to try lol š
Keep up with the questions, I love them!
Can’t wait for the full post about your dinner!
I worked at the office right above Meyers and Change for years so we were always going in there to eat. Joanne is soo generous to us and always hooks the company up with donations and such. That place has a total different feel at night. So hip!
P.S. I had a dream that my boyfriend and I went out to dinner with you and Mal and you were being a super bitch. Hahaha.
Is your sweater from banana? I have the same one, and wore mine yesterday, too! š
Those are the three I would have wanted more than the others – yummmmmmm! š Good luck with the check-in, but really, enjoying life is more important in the long run š
weekends after a friend’s visit is always bad! My stomach is still cramping from my weekend! BTW you should totally FOREVER have a “ask me anything” section. I could ask you questions all day…ala Barbara Walters!
Way to dominate those cupcakes! Atleast you shared…..can’t say I would of do that! Ha! š

Wow I love the cupcakes aftermath. Impressive. š
Does anyone have suggestions for good sports bras – I would love to hear them.
haha i’d say it’s a sin to leave cupcakes uneaten! and everyone needs to splurge!
I love Myers and Chang, can’t wait to read your review!
Good luck with the Healthworks check in!
So true! Enjoy life!
I will have to hunt down those cupcakes…Bananas Foster sounds amazing!
I love that restaurant! I’ve been there twice before, and am so excited (on your behalf) that you got to meet Joanne. How fun!
In other news, I really like your fashion tips. I very much agree with splurging on the essential items – coat, boots and heels, jeans, etc. – and spending more conservatively with super trendy things (for me, earrings often fall into this category!) I think it’s a great way to strike a balance between sophisticated/pampered and thrifty/functional.
Yum! Those cupcakes look amazing! I might have to get down there to try it. You make me want to live in Boston! š
what an evening, meeting the chef and cupcakes! score.
Oh, what a fun night! Good luck at the weigh in! I am sure you will do fine!
mmmmmmm cupcakes and meeting a great chef? sounds like an awesome night!
You guys did a nice job on those cupcakes!!! š
How exciting that you got meet Joanne Chang!! And I’m going to Sweet this week, now that you’ve showed me how incredible those cupcakes are. I’m home near Boston this week, pug-sitting for my parents. If you’re interested in seeing another adorable little smooshed face, pictures of DeeDee are on my blog! Have a wonderful day!
I have a question for you. I was reading the Success Stories in my SHAPE magazine from October and realized about half way through that it was about you! How did you they learn about your story and how did you get picked to be in the magazine? Was it really fun to see yourself in a national magazine? I found your blog a couple of months ago and LOVE it – keep up the great work!
wow, how cool is that that you got to meet such an amazing chef?!?! those cupcakes made me smile…i LOVE the huge icing on them!
Send me the cupcake scraps!
How exciting meeting the chef! Those cupcakes look soooo good! š
Jenn
If I wasn’t trying to avoid sugar I’d totally be hitting those cupcakes up when I go to Boston in two weeks. But they look divine.
Those cupcakes look awesome! I love how unique the flavors are. A cupcake flavored like a pancake!? Sign me up!
