Rise and shine!
I have a full day ahead, which includes Body Pump, lots of errands around town, and packing. Lots and lots of packing. We’re moving 2 weeks from tomorrow! šÆ I cannot believe we’re moving again, but, at least this time, I know we’ll be staying for awhile.
Breakfast
This morning’s breakfast was inspired by another one of Mama Pea’s pumpkin creations. The other day, she whipped a delicious-lookingĀ Pumpkin Pie Shake, so I attempted my own version with ingredients in my refrigerator this morning.
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup frozen canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 1.25 cups soy milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
- Enjoy with a stainless steel straw! š
I also threw in a packet of chocolate-flavored Amazing Grass. My cold is just about gone, so I want to nip in the bud. I have no idea if this stuff really works, but I figured it couldn’t hurt.
Ok, now for some fun!
Who is your celebrityĀ doppelganger?
Does the word ‘doppelganger’ remind anyone else of How I Met Your Mother? I had never even heard the word until I watched the show and now I use it all of the time! š
So, I was catching up my celebrity gossip in US Weekly the other day and stumbled upon a very familiar looking pug.
Brad and Angelina’s “Furry Sidekick” looks a lot like Murphy.
You might think that all pugs look alike, but they do not. Pugs come in all shapes and sizes. Some are cute and some are really ugly. Murphy is “unique” because he has really long, flying nun-like ears. (Most pugs don’t have such long ears.) Brad and Angelina’s pug has those same long ears and a very expressive Murphy-like face.
Do you see the pug dog resemblance? I think they were separated at birth,Ā just like Mal and Kirk! š
Over the years, people have told me that I have a fewĀ celebrity doppelgangers, including Kate Beckinsale, Neve Campbell, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Sometimes, I see the Kate Beckinsale resemblance, but not the other two. Actually, I don’t see it at all!
Doggy 5K
For the locals…
BostonDOG and the MSPCA-Angell have teamed up with RACE – Run Against Cancer Events to host the Doggy 5K, Boston’s first ever road race for humans and dogs! All event proceeds benefit the Angell Animal Medical Center’s Oncology service and BostonDOG’s Boston Common Dog Park Proposal.
The Doggy 5k is at 10am on Saturday, November 13th at South Boston’s Castle Island.Ā The race is open to humans running with or without dogs.
Question of the Day
Who is your celebrity doppelganger?
P.S. I’m hosting a Nutella and Teddie Peanut Butter giveaway over on Trading Up Downtown this morning! I know you want to enter! š

The word actually reminds me of WWII and Hitler since Hitler used many doppelgangers for his own personal safety when he would appear in public .
You could sorta pass for Neve Campbell
Now that Dakota Fanning is older, people tell me that she looks a lot like me. At first, I thought they were crazy…until I saw a recent photo! You do look a bit like Kate. Lucky her! š
I never knew Murphy’s ears were so unique…they’re the cutest part of him I think!! And I definitely see the Kate Beckinsale resemblance, but not the other two either. I’m surprised that people still even think of Jennifer Love Hewitt at all…she hasn’t been in anything in ages!!
Totally Murphy’s Doppleganger!
I’ve gotten Katie Holmes and Winnie Cooper from the wonder years a lot.
He does look like Murphy! Also, the magazine didn’t call it a bulldog — it said that they added this pug in addition to their bulldog.
MAMA PEA= Kate Beckinsale, YOU=Neve Campbell, Me= margaret cho
OH and everyone tells me I look like Anne Hathaway. I get that a few times a week. In high school I used to get Carly Pope from the show Popular.
I have been told that I look like Jodie Foster and Shannon Dorhety though I don’t see the resemblance at all for either.
@Dori: Duh. My reading comprehension is poor sometimes. Thanks for the catch!
Damian Lewis looks just like Mal! My husband and I were watching Band of Brothers and I couldn’t figure out who he reminded me of, and then you had Mal’s school picture up and it finally clicked! Here’s a link:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0507073/
i’ve been told that i look a lot like both nicole kidman and charlize theron…i don’t see it, but i’ll take it!
Hehe this is the first time I’ve ever heard the word doppelganger and I think it’s awesome! I don’t really think I have one – I’ve been told Anne Hathaway once when my hair was darker and longer, but I really don’t think so at all. You really DO look like Neve Campbell! š
SO cute! Adam loves Murphy..seriously, he often looks at pictures of him and says “I want that one!”. It’s awesome. Anyway, I thought they were calling him a bulldog too(confusing) but they are just saying they now have a pug as well as their bulldog, Jack. As for my doppleganger, people lately have said Claire from Lost. I also have gotten Elisha Cuthbert a few times. I can definitely see Kate Beckinsale!
@Katy(The Balanced Foodie): Oops, you took the bulldog part off, haha. Oh well. P.S. I miss you a lot! Just had to mention that fact. Have a great day, Tina!
I always find “look likes” interesting. When I was younger I was told mine was Candice Cameron (from Full House), but now I have been told Lisa Loeb (by a seriously drunk dude), but I would take that one too. Have a great day Tina!
You make me want a pug! So cute.
I’ve heard Jodie Foster many, many times. I’ll take it!
I get Sandra Bullock sometimes. I don’t see it, but I am certainly flattered!
@Jamie @ Food in Real Life: My sister used to be told she looked like Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) back in the day…wonder if you and she (my sister) look at all alike?
I love the doppelganger episodes – have you seen the stripped Lily one? SO, so funny!
The one i’ve heard the most is Katie Holmes, especially when my hair was longer.
Winona Ryder apparently. I think it was probably true about 10-15 years ago but not anymore š
Murph has a long lost sibling! With Brangelina? Who knew!!! š
I think the Kate Beckinsale resemblance is definitely there. I’ve gotten Sara Michelle Gellar consistently over the years. I still don’t see it!
i can see the kate beckinsale resemblence a little bit. i think she is gorgeous, so go with it!! i used to look like ashlee simpson pre-nose job, pre-weight loss, pre-red hair. i used to dye my hair very dark and would wear it in a faux hawk. i definitely resembled her a little bit
I definitely see the resemblance b/w Murphy and “Brangelina’s” pug! I also see a similarity b/w you and Kate Beckinsale.
I’ve been told I look like the following celebrities: Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts (I don’t see this one at all), Idina Menzel, Katie Holmes… and other pale, dark-haired women ;).
That’s totally Murphy’s twin š I used to hear that I look like Jodie Foster all the time. It probably helps that I work in law enforcement. At the police academy, my nickname was Clarice š
People have told me I look like LC from The Hills, Giada or Lindsay Lohan before she was coked out. I don’t really see any of them!
I can see the Kate Beckinsdale resemblance!! Haha. People have told me I look like Tiffani Theisan! I have the same eyes/nose/face shape.
My celebrity doppelganger is LeeLee Sobieski! I love that Murph has one too.
Pugs definitely are unique! My pug looks nothing like any other pug I’ve ever seen!
I can definitely seek the Mal/Kirk similarities. Kirk actually moved to Minneapolis a few months back and moved in a few doors down from me in the apartment building I live in. The first time I saw him I felt like I had a run-in with a ‘celebrity’. Lol.
I can DEFINITELY see the Kate Beckindale resemblence…lucky you!! I get Hilary Swank all the time. In fact, I once got pulled over buy a cop for speeding and he told me I looked just like that movie star boxing chick (from Million Dollar Baby) I laughed and tried to act like that was SO cool…wouldn’t you know he still gave me the speeding ticket! š
Until this week, I’d never been told that I look like a celebrity (except some random soap opera star whose name I forget). But the other day I was in the post office and the guy said “I finally figured out why you look so familiar…you know Sarah Palin’s daughter that’s on DWTS? You two could be twins.” Um…thanks? I guess I should be flattered since she is at least 10 years younger than I am! š
I see Neve Campbell in you — especially when I look at your picture of you in the purple shirt under “More from Tina”.
I don’t know who I look like — a friend’s brother used to tell me I looked like Charlize Theron, but I’m pretty sure he just had a crush on me and was trying to be nice.
And I agree that not all Pugs look alike — there are 2 pugs in my neighborhood that look NOTHING like Murphy.
i don’t think i have one but i love how i met your mother! thats the one show we tivo. such good writing, its hilarious!
A few weeks ago a bartender told me that I looked like Amy Adams. I guess I kind of see it…I loved her in the movie Junebug, so I took it as a compliment!
Glad you’re feeling better! I totally see the Murphy one and you for Kate Beckinsale. I’ve always been told I look like Jamie Pressly.
My husband and I have been trying to figure out mine forever and we have come to no conclusions. He’s easy. He’s a young Tom Hanks. And if our dog were to have an actress voice, like one of those voiceover things, we have decided Meg Ryan would best be her personality.
When I was 12-13, I was told and one time even mistaken mistaken for Winny from the Wonder Years. Since then I’ve been told I look like Alissa Milano, but I don’t really see it.
I don’t have an official doppelganger but I seem to have one of those familiar faces that always reminds someone of a friend of theirs. You do look like Kate!
Best luck with the move, I just did it last month. It’s fun and tiring!
I think you look like the woman on the left- not sure which one that is!
That race sounds like so much fun- how cute!
i don’t have a celebrity doppleganger, but i do see your resemblance with kate beckinsale š
that pumpkin shake looks yummy!
I think you do kind of look like a mix between both Kate and Neve. The shape of your eyes and face are similar to both.
People have told me I look like Zooey Deschanel from Elf, this is when she had blond hair.
Aw so cute!
I get Katie Holmes a lot. The other day, someone also said I looked a lot like Jessica Alba – I don’t see it, but I’ll take it! š
I don’t know who my doppelganger (which is a German word for “double person”!) is, but I actually think you look like Allyson Hannigan from How I Met Your Mother!
I’ve been enjoying pumpkin smoothies like it’s my job. They’re so good and the perfect way to enjoy pumpkin in cold form since the chilly fall weather still hasn’t set it yet here in VA.
I definitely see your resemblance with Kate Beckinsale. I don’t think I have a celeb doppleganger, but people have told me I look like someone – most of the time I never know what celebrity they are talking about so I don’t ever remember their names. haha
I’ve been told I look a lot like the actress who played Aurelia in Love Actually (Colin Firth’s love interest). My boyfriend’s dopplegangers are Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr.
the one i get most frequently is amy smart- that girl from road trip! š
I love pumpkin smoothies!
I have been told I look a lot like someone from a soap opera – I don’t remember which one though.
Enjoy your day – good luck packing!
Murphy has one famous dopplehanger! He really does look like Brangelina’s pug.
My dopplehanger is Gabby Hoffman. When I was a tween, she and I really looked alike! Not so much now.
Thanks for the info about the Doggy 5k! And I get a few celebrity look alikes: Patricia Heaton, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Alanis Morrisette. I don’t see it in any of them either! And we love How I Met Your Mother. Hilarious!
I’ve actually never been told I look like any celebrity. I feel like I’m missing out now! Those pugs do look amazingly alike.
lol…some pugs really are fugly. You guys really lucked out!
I’ve gotten Tina Fey (w/ my glasses on), Jennifer Love Hewitt, and whatever brunette girl is on one tree hill. I don’t see it, in any of them.
