My 38th birthday celebration was quite a fun one – thanks to my boys! They definitely made it special for me!
Mal and I picked up Quinn early from school and headed down to The Oysterman in Duxbury for “Mumma’s party.” I’m not someone who makes a big deal of my birthday, so this was the perfect little celebration!
My “party” kicked off with a glass of champagne and presents! đ
Cheers!
FYI: My sunglasses are from Kohv. They’re stylish AND affordable. You can save 10% with code carrotsncake!
My boys bought me a beautiful necklace with “quinn” engraved on it, along with his and my birth stone. I absolutely love it! I’m actually wearing it right now! đ
Our meal started with oysters (obviously) – all of which were local from Duxbury, Kingston, and Wellfleet.
For my entree, I went with the Tequila-Lime Scallop Ceviche and a side of hand-cut French fries, which were out of this world. Mal and I couldn’t stop talking about how good they tasted – even Quinn ate some!
After dinner, we stuck around for a drink on the couch outside. I didn’t want the celebration to end! đ
On the drive home, we swung by a nearby bakery to buy piece of cake… because no birthday celebration is complete without CAKE! It was delicious!
All in all, it was a wonderful birthday celebration, Here’s to an awesome year, and THANK YOU for all of the sweet birthday wishes yesterday! đ
Question of the Day
What kind of celebration do you prefer for your birthday? Big? Little? All month long?
Happy Birthday. Sounds like a fun day. Love the necklace!
Love your top! Where did you get it, if I might ask?
Thanks! Itâs from Stitch Fix!
This seems fun! I’m also low-key when it comes to my birthday and would rather not make a spectacle out of it. All of the love warms my heart, but I prefer to just celebrate in tiny ways. For other people’s birthdays, however, I want to go ALL OUT. – Kaitlyn | http://www.poweredbysass.com
Happy Birthday Tina! That is definitely my kind of celebration. With a birthday in February (in MA!) I’m never really tempted to go out so I usually request some take-out like sushi or pizza, wine, cake and a movie. And of course I put on my comfiest sweats đ
Happy Birthday!! Mine is on the 19th too:)
Happy birthday to you!!
Happy birthday, Tina! I hope you have an amazing year ahead.
That ceviche looks delicious.
Where is your pretty top from?
Itâs from Stitch Fix! đ
Which bakery??
Happy belated birthday! Glad you had so much fun. The boys did good with the necklace!
Happy Birthday Tina!!
Cute top.
Similar….. but not! HA!!

Nice find! đ
Happy Birthday!!!
I like celebrating all month long. It usually happens that way because I’m getting together with various people from all over the area I live, so one party wouldn’t cut it. Plus, who doesn’t like a month full of being treated to meals?!
I hate big gatherings … so I prefer not to celebrate my birthday. My friends on the other hand aren’t big on forgetting my birthday. So I get all of my CLOSE friends together on ONE night and that’s the extent of my celebrating. I DO still require a birthday cake and yummy ice cream with my parents to celebrate my big day.
Do you plan to have a big 40th birthday in 2 years? I am starting to fear my 30th birthday because EVERYONE will want to have a big get together! đ
Yes! But not big. Just fancy and fun! đ
happy happy (belated) birthday, Tina! sorry i missed the day…i’m blaming my moving/crazy week đ so glad it was fabulous! hugs
Thank you!!
Every year, even now that I am 32, I have dinner with my parents (and of course my husband too) on the day of my birthday even if it is on a Tuesday like it was this year. My husband and I have dinner together on a different day just the two of us. It feels special to always be with my parents on that day.
This is so precious, Tina :’) Love your blogs. Please continue to write more *-*
