Today is the day!!!
You guys know that I 100% live in leggings. They are basically a wardrobe staple over here! 🙂 I prefer to wear leggings over “real people clothes” any day! As a blogger and mom with a crazy, busy, and active lifestyle, I often go straight from the gym to running errands and then on to work calls/meetings with no breaks, so it’s super important for me to have activewear that is built for performance in the gym, yet stylish enough to wear out and about. So, when Four Athletics reached out to me to see if I would be interested in designing my own pair of leggings, the answer was a resounding YES, PLEASE! I was thrilled, to say the least!
Designing my own pair of leggings?! HOW cool is THAT? Obviously, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Plus, some of my favorite fitness women launched their own leggings, and I knew I wanted to follow suit after seeing what they created. Woohoo, it was my turn!
Four Athletics is such a cool fitness apparel brand – I love what they stand for! The company was started by four brothers who were on the hunt for activewear that was not only premium quality, but affordable and made in the USA. When their search came up short, they decided to take matters into their own hands and create their own! I love the entrepreneurial spirit behind the company, and the “if you don’t like something, change it,” attitude! 🙂
In addition, Four Athletics is revamping the traditional retail model, which can be costly and wasteful. To combat the middleman and eliminate waste, the company relies on crowdfunding so that supply and demand are completely in sync. They only make what is ordered! The result is high-quality fitness apparel, all at a fraction of the cost!
When the designer from Four Athletics asked me what I had in mind for my leggings, I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted my leggings to be functional yet flattering, a pair that could withstand a kickass workout and then be worn straight to wherever the day would take me. I also knew I wanted them to be black! Why? Because black simply hides sweat better and anyone who has ever worked out with me knows that I am a super sweaty exerciser! 🙂 And, for the record, they held up great when I gave them the old “sweat test” at Orangetheory. I usually look like I just went swimming after Orangetheory and the leggings didn’t show one once of sweat!
It was also important to me that I would feel confident every time I pulled on a pair – not only because the leggings felt great, but also because they made me look great! I absolutely love the contour panels on these leggings. They’re so flattering to the legs and glutes! The fabric is thick enough so that there’s no chance of “unmentionables” peeking through, yet still breathable with the right amount of stretch. The high waist is definitely a plus – no slippage during squats and deadlifts! I think we can all agree how super annoying it is to have to worry about your pants falling down while you’re trying to get a workout in!
It’s so hard to find quality workout gear that won’t completely break your bank account. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across a pair that seemed perfect, only to delete it from my shopping cart because I couldn’t justify the price tag. That’s why I am freaking thrilled that these leggings are now available for only $69 a pop (they retail for $120)! Four Athletics isn’t kidding around with keeping their apparel affordable!
Carrots ‘N’ Cake Printed Legging – 7/8, High Rise
$ 69
* Just an FYI – since Four Athletics makes products based on demand, you won’t receive the leggings until this campaign has been crowdfunded. After they know exactly the number of orders they have received, you will receive an email confirming they are on their way. Right now, it’s estimated as late June.
As far as sizing goes, sizing can be a pain in the butt (literally), but Four Athletics makes it easy for you with their comprehensive sizing chart. The chart lists their own sizes with waist and length numbers, and also compares popular brand sizes such as Lululemon and Zella to Four Athletics so you can get an even better understanding of how the leggings will fit. I ordered a size 4 to give you an idea.
