In honor of National Carrot Cake Day tomorrow and CNC’s 9th blog birthday, it’s only fitting that I share a recipe for delicious Carrot Cake Protein Balls! 🙂 I actually created it for an Instagram takeover with Whole Foods Market Hingham a few weeks ago, so you might have seen it already, but either way, I think you’re really going to love it!
These Carrot Cake Protein Balls taste just like the real deal, but they’re made without flour, so they’re naturally gluten-free. They’re also loaded with protein and healthy fats, thanks to a serving of white chia seeds. If carrot cake is your thing, then you will LOVE them! Enjoy!

Ingredients
1/4 cup creamy almond butter
1/2 cup gluten-free oats
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup vanilla protein powder of your choice (I used SFH)
1 large carrot
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp white chia seeds
Instructions
Combine ingredients in a food processor. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls. Store protein balls in the refrigerator or freezer.

I have a similar recipe I make and love! They’re a great way to sneak in extra veggies. I need to try the white chia seeds. Totally intrigued by those!
These look awesome! Going to try them this weekend. Quick question though. If I didn’t want to use the protein powder, should I substitute something else? Thanks! 🙂
@Colleen @ What’s Baking in the Barbershop?!: I’ve been wondering that same thing. Could powdered milk be a substitute in recipes for those who don’t use protein powder?
National Carrot Cake Day? This may now be my absolute favourite day of the year! I’m absolutely going to make these balls too, they look AMAZING.
ooh so healthy with a whole carrot in there too! I am super into adding chia seeds to everything and anything right now!
Love protein ball recipes! Congrats on 9 years WOW!
Hi Tina – I’m sorry if I’ve missed this from a previous post but what do you like about SFH protein powder? I’m looking to make a switch.
It’s really tasty and made with high-quality ingredients, none of that weird stuff!
Holy smokes! These look amazing!!! I’m definitely making them asap. Thank you for sharing! And congrats on your anniversary. That’s incredible.
Do you grate the carrot first?
I just cut it into chunks, but it depends on your food processor.
These look so good! Is there any nutritional difference between white chia seeds and black ones? Do they taste different?
I think they’re pretty much the same! 🙂
Just made these! yum!
