Carpet Diem

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

Believe it or not, George isn’t at home.
Please leave a message at the beep.
I must be out, or I’d pick up the phone.
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I’m not home!

I woke up singing George Costanza’s answering machine message, and now I can’t get it out of my head. Don’t you hate it when that happens?! But, I have to laugh because I had Mal singing it before he left the house this morning! 😆

Thank goodness I write about other things besides food because I would definitely bore you with my breakfasts.

I ate oatmeal again this morning. But, this time, I mixed in some granola! 😉 The mix was about 50/50 oatmeal and granola, so it was creamy, but a little crunchy too.

Today is Carpet Day! 😀

We haven’t been able to completely unpacked because we’re waiting to replace the carpet in the mudroom and office, but today’s the day. Carpet Diem! We’ll be settled and organized soon enough.

Last night, a salesman from National Floors Direct visited our home. He measured the two rooms while Mal and I looked at carpet samples. Before we knew it, we had an estimate and we were filling out paperwork to purchase. The whole process was so easy. Just like that, we have new carpet and it’s being installed today.

And, boy, do we need new carpet! 😯

Feel Great Weight

Check out this week’s FGW post: Moving Day: Why My New House Is Affecting My Weight.

Question of the Day

What was your favorite TV series of the 1990’s?

My favorites: Party of Five, My So Called Life, Full HouseSeinfeld, Boy Meets WorldClarissa Explains It All <— I thought she dressed SO cool!

  1. Clarissa all the way!! I desperately wished my best friend would just climb through my window from a ladder. And I totally went through a “Clarissa Clothes” phase!

Other than that, we watched a lot of ‘TGIF’ and ‘SNICK’ at our house…Full House, Step by Step, and Are You Afraid of the Dark? were our favorites!

  2. Friends is my all time favorite show ever. I have all of the seasons. But I also loved Saved By The Bell, Boy Meets World, and Family Matters 😉

  3. i think i spent all of the 90’s watching simpsons and seinfeld reruns. also, it’s late 90’s, but i was addicted to felicity and dawson’s creek. now i have costanza’s song in my head! jason alexander actually lives in my ‘hood!

  4. Okay, so this was not a 90’s show but shortly thereafter…Felicity! I had a bunch of co-workers who were in their early-mid 20’s like me at the time and we got together once a week for a viewing party. We were all learning to cook so it was a potluck where we all signed up to bring a different dish (the host always did the main dish) and try new recipes. So fun!

  5. I was an eighties baby, so nineties TV was pretty big for me…loved lots of shows! Full House (never missed it & still enjoy it!), Saved by the Bell, Roseanne, Boy Meets World, The Simpsons, Wonder Years, Family Matters, ER, Friends, a bunch of cheesy Nickelodeon shows (Salute Your Shorts, Doug, Alex Mack, etc), Who’s the Boss, Growing Pains & Golden Girls (although the last three were primarily in the eighties). I’m sure there were more…

  6. I loved Clarissa, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Home Improvement, Boy Meets World, Friends, The Nanny, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and Clueless (shame on me!)

  7. Wahoo for new carpet!! I wish they would replace the carpet in my apartment…there are alcohol and throw up stains everywhere! And I swear they were there before we moved in!!

I looooved Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and all of the classic Nick cartoons!

  8. I LOOOOVE Clarissa Explains It All. In fact, guess what’s on the top of my Wish List this year for Christmas? Clarissa Season 1 on DVD–I hope to collect them all!

  9. Oh geeze, in the 90s, I was a fan of Disney cartoons. I could sing all the theme songs and to this day, just hearing the name or the shows will get the songs stuck in my head.

    ch-ch-Chip & Dale! Rescue Rangers!

    yup, its stuck… :-/

  10. Seinfeld and Full House, hands down! And lucky you with the new carpet…unfortunately the carpet in my bedroom looks something like that that you are replacing… :-/

  11. I’m all about FRIENDS! They are more mid-late 90’s but I think they still count. I get afraid of carpet stains when I don’t know what they are. Some of yours look a little suspicious. 😉

  12. I love seinfeld!! I still watch it today. My dad introduced me to it. It’s his favorite show. I can’t really watch it in the dorms anymore, but I do have a season on DVD. :]

  13. That song for some reason pops into my head surprisingly often – so, I can relate! My favourite show was Seinfeld, and George was definetely my favourite character!
