I’m a huge fan of exercising on vacation. It’s obviously fun and it makes me feel good knowing that a little sweat session helps to balance out some of my vacation splurges. At the same time though, I don’t want to spend a lot of time working out (hello, it’s called vacation for a reason), so I typically stick with short, high-intensity workouts to get the most bang for my buck.

During our Cape vacation last week, Mal and I worked out twice during Quinn’s nap time. The first workout was “Death by Slamball” (slamballs are easily our favorite piece of equipment to travel with) and the second was a fun beach workout, which was made up of almost all body weight exercises. We used slamballs (mine was 15 pounds), but any sort of weighted object would work (barbell, dumbbell, medicine ball, kettlebell, gallon of water, a big rock).
This workout took us less than 20 minutes and, with the resistance from the sand on the beach, we definitely felt like we got a great workout!
2 ROUNDS:
15 Burpees
50 Walking Lunges
25 Air Squats
50 Thrusters (we used a Slamball, but any sort of weight would work)
25 Push-Ups
25 Air Squats
15 Burpees
— rest 2 minutes–

Haha a big rock! That cracked me up! I’m a big fan of working out on vacation too. I feel weird if I don’t get a little sweat sesh in.
I usually avoid bringing any extra equipment on vacation, but I do like to hit a quick body weight workout. You can never go wrong with 100 burpees for time.
This is a great workout I’ll definitely be trying it! I love quick intense workouts, especially on vacation!!
Wow, this workout looks great! This also sounds like a good backyard workout for me while ‘not’ on vacation even.
I have been playing around with buying a slam ball for some time now. Perhaps I should just take the plunge and go for it?
Totally! Slamballs are so versatile in workouts!
High intensity workouts which include using your own body weight are good to do so that you can feel the burn and stay active the whole day.
Hi Tina! I just did this work out! LOVED it. It took me a little over 20 mins and I was a sweaty mess! Keep em coming. Thanks for sharing it with us 🙂
So glad to hear that! 🙂
Such a great post. I love the pinterest workouts on butt and tummy… I’ll try this routine on a weekday… burpees are such a killer.
Your abs look fantastic.
Loved this. You’re really inspiring.
