Can’t Get Enough

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

I bet you’ve never seen a pug peanut butter addiction up close and personal? I finished off the jar of Teddie this morning, so I let Murphy go to town on it!

Watching him lick the crap out of the jar was way better than any OIAJ ever could be!

As you can see, Murphy really got into it.

I love peanut butter, but I actually think Murphy loves it more than me. Did you see those crazy pug eyes in the last photo?! What a nut.

My breakfast this morning was a toasted English muffin with peanut butter and banana slices on top.

It never gets old.

And, as always, I enjoyed an iced coffee with breakfast.

Question of the Day

I don’t know about you, but I go through phases of loving certain foods and eating them all of the time. Right now, I’m obsessed with smoothies and coconut butter.

What are the foods that you can’t get enough of right now?

  1. this is completely unrelated to this blog post but last night at my new gym, i saw a foam roller. i was very excited to try it as i’ve seen you mention it previously.

i was a tad confused as to how to use it. i don’t suppose sometime in the near future you could give a helpful, simple explanation of how to properly use it? thanks!

  2. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Ezekiel cinnamon raisin english muffins, almond butter and Trader Joe’s pumpkin butter. Unfortunately, I’m on my last jar of pumpkin butter and they won’t carry it again until next fall. I will be lost without it! I’m also obsessed with hummus.

  3. I can’t get enough of kale chips, honey crisp apples, shredded coconut, grass-fed beef and coffee with almond milk and raw honey. I can’t stop with any of them, it’s been a few months that I’ve had almost all of those every day.

  4. Oh, goodness. I just can’t get enough butternut squash this year! I’ve made soups, and spreads, and salads with it. So good!

I’ve yet to try the coconut butter, mostly because I’ve read about other people’s addictions to it and I’m not quite ready for two!

  5. Ozery Bakery Breakfast Pitas with a slice of cheddar cheese. I am obsessed with this combo right now. Not sure if Ozery is available in Boston but worth looking for. Have a great day!

  6. OMG yes!!! I’m obsessed with sun dried tomatoes. I put them in EVERYTHING. Well, almost everything. For breakfast I’m obsessed with peanut butter. Since it’s loaded with calories I try to be careful but I’m so in love with it right now I could care less!!

  7. My dog, Izzy, gets the empty PB jar every time I finish one. She’s a blue heeler so she’s quite a bit bigger than Murphy and can get all the way to the bottom of the jar. She always knows when its time for it to. As soon as she hears scraping the jar with a butter knife she’s right there at my feet waiting lol.

  8. This is funny but YOUR smoothie addiction has inspired MY recent smoothie addiction. I cannot get enough of the pumpkin pie smoothie. It’s starting to alarm my husband.

  9. I’ve had the dreaded fever and cold that runners dread!! So lately I’ve been having lots of fruit and veggies in the hope it’ll make get better soon. I just keep thinking “we are what we eat” in the hope my immune system starts kicking some germs’ behinds!!!

  10. I love that combo too. I might bring it back sometime this week. I also am loving eggs + avocado but that’s nothing new.

Do you have a kong toy for Murphy? We love to put PB in it for Rascal. You can put just a bit and b/c it’s so difficult for them to get to, it will keep them busy for a long time.

  11. how, how do you manage to do that? how do you manage to live like that? i’ve been reading your blog for quite some time now and i couldn’t be more jealous, for no matter how many times i’ve tried- i just keep letting myself down. i can’t stop eating snacks and candies, i can’t muster up the energy to work out (not even jogging) and i can’t bring myself to eat vegetables. i’m selling myself short, and i don’t believe that’s going to change. actually, i don’t believe i got what it takes to actually make this change happen.
i envy you. seems like you got everything going amazingly well. but how do you keep that life-style going on? don’t you ever wake up thinking ‘i had enough with this whole heath thing, i just wanna eat brownies for breakfast’? how do you stop yourself from making excuses? it’s always too hot for me or to cold for me, and there is always some sort of special occasion going on- a birthday, a holiday, anything, really, just as long as i don’t have to change anything. i wish i could be more like you. even just a little bit more…

    1. I think that your fault lies in the words “I can’t”.
When we tell ourselves that we can’t do something, it makes it more engrained into our brains and we believe it. It’s easy to let our attitude take over our lives. You said yourself that you don’t believe you have what it takes to change, then you can’t make a change because you have already told yourself you cant. Tell yourself you are capable of anything. Also, nobody is perfect, even your favourite bloggers. Hope this helps a little bit in knowing you chose how you feel! 🙂

  12. Peanut butter. It’s hands down my favorite. Mix in either banana bread, pumpkin bread, or just bananas. Then some vanilla Greek yogurt. That’s either breakfast, part of lunch or a great dessert. And it’s healthy! How the heck not??? I’m so into peanut butter – Murphy might have some serious competition. Actually, I’ll let him have the peanut butter lover title since I don’t want to be in competition with a pug, right? LOL

  13. Heavy-on-the-banana smoothies, tofu and dry roasted broad beans/chick peas. Love, love, love again 🙂
Lol at Murphy!! That’s what I look like when I have an empty PB jar…

  14. Murphy is sooooooooooooo cute. i would be licking every corner of the peanut butter jar too… I LOVE PB! I so want a dog, but my husband won’t agree to it. I guess one of us would need to be home else it would get bored.

  15. AAAaaahhhhhh!! Teddie LOVES Murphy’s enthusiasm!! In fact – we will be sharing Murphy’s Teddie Peanut Butter enthusiasm on our site as well!! Thanks TINA – What a kick!! Teddie can now be offically described as ‘PUG-alicous’!!

  16. I cannot get enough of smoothies lately. I just got a smoothie maker for Christmas and it’s been my best friend ever since! This week I haven’t gotten the chance to make one, but that is going to change real quick!

  17. I recently tried making homemade greek yogurt so I am loving that right now. I also love peanut butter (PB2) and jelly on whole grain wasa crackers.

To the person who commented about pumpkin butter, you can make your own with canned pumpkin. Just add some cinnamon and tiny bit of syrup or molasses. I use this for an apple dip (and I’ve been known to stir it into hot chocolate too!).

  18. Haha, this post must have made your husband proud, I know you two are big peanut butter fans!

I am currently obsessed with baked vegetables – I seriously cannot get enough, am planning all meals around them, and often crave them at really random times of the day. I suppose there are worse things in life to be addicted to though.

  19. Ah! There’s actually a dog toy called a “kong” that acts exactly like this peanut butter jar! It’s a rubber cone-ish toy with a hollow inside, and you put a bit of peanut butter (or something… we occasionally used vegemite) inside and the dog spends hours playing with it and trying to lick it out 🙂

  20. I always go through those phases….right now, I have seen you have baked veges, I know through all my veges in oven (anything & everything), season with salt and pepper & wellala…that’s my lunch for the next day….

  21. Oh…yes, forgot to mention…my labrador is a food addict….LOVES banana & peanut butter Kong, caramalised banana pancakes, waffles & loves to lick the froth from our coffee cups….coffee addict, like his mother!
