Everyone is preparing for Hurricane Irene and we’re in a boat on the ocean. I know it sounds crazy, but what they say about the calm before the storm is completely true.
The ocean was really peaceful last night, so Mal and I joined our friends Johnny and Alexa for an evening of good times on the water.
The four of us met at the boatyard and packed up the boat.
And off we went!
A little while later, the wine and snacks came out.
We cruised around for about an hour before we docked in Plymouth.
The plan for the evening was to have dinner at East Bay Grille.
I’m not going to lie, it was pretty cool taking a boat there.
There was a 30-minute wait for a table, so we enjoyed a cocktail outside to kill some time. I ordered a Skinny Girl Margarita with salt.
Dinner included another Skinny Girl Margarita, local raw oysters, and a grilled salmon salad with goat cheese, candied pecans, and sautéed mushrooms with a lemon poppy seed vinaigrette. Everything was really delicious.
I’m a huge fan of East Bay Grille. I loved everything about it”” the food, drinks, waterfront location, and its fun, vacation-y atmosphere. I already want to go back!
On the boat ride home, a dance party ensued.
Yep, it was a good night”” easily one of the best of the summer.
