Cakes Bakery & Café Giveaway

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Last spring, I first blogged about Cakes Bakery & Cafe, an adorable bakery and café in Milton Village. I absolutely loved it, but, for some reason, I haven’t been back since then. But, thanks to a deal from Signpost, I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Cakes this afternoon.

Adorable, right? Seriously, why don’t I bring my laptop there to work!?! There’s even free WiFi!

Yummm! The baked goods were out of control today”” or maybe it was just my sugar cravings? Either way, I wanted one of everything!

For lunch, I ordered the Made-to-Order Sandwich of the Day, which was Hot Pastrami with Swiss cheese, honey Dijon mustard, and coleslaw on toasted freshly baked country wheat bread. It tasted as incredible as it sounds.

Cakes also offers a variety of Premade Sandwiches, but I would definitely go with the Sandwich of the Day. It was so fresh and flavorful. I can’t wait to try another one of their sandwiches.

I also enjoyed an Everything Bar, which was basically a Seven Layer Bar, but more dense and packed with chocolate chips, nuts, shredded coconut, etc. It was truly amazing.

I’m such a big fan of Cakes, Signpost offered to giveaway one of their current deals for FREE to a lucky Carrots ”˜N’ Cake winner:

For just $7 you can get $14 worth of artisan sandwiches at Cakes, which has locations in both Milton and Arlington. The deal is good for both breakfast sandwiches, like a mouthwatering bacon, egg and Swiss on harvest bread as well as lunch sandwiches ranging from a hearty Grilled Chicken BLT or Meatball sub to the lighter chicken salad with grapes on sourdough and roasted vegetables with hummus on a wrap and that classic standby grilled cheese.

To enter: Click through to the Cakes website and leave a comment on this post about what you might order if you win this giveaway. I’ll randomly pick a winner on Wednesday morning.

Good luck!

  1. Ooh, probably the roast beef with Boursin. My husband used to make that, on the skillet, and it was soo good. And for dessert, some type of fruit tart. 🙂

  2. That 7-layer bar looks divine”¦I love chocolate and coconut”¦it’s right up there with chocolate & peanut butter which is a huge thing- not many foods deserve that spot ;)! I love cute cafes like that, such a great feel to them.

  3. Everything looks so delicious! I would get a carrot cake cupcake and let my kids pick out a dessert for themselves 🙂

  4. I would start with a Black Forest Ham & Havarti on Rye. For dessert, I will need more time to look for a selection…in person!

  5. Definitely one of the teacakes! Wild Blueberry? Cranberry Walnut? Lemon Poppy Seed? Looks like there will be multiple trips! Good thing one just opened a couple blocks away from me! 😉

  6. Oops, I skipped right over the lunch menu 🙂 I would have to go with the Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake, but all the desserts sound wonderful.

  7. Oh wow! I can’t believe I haven’t known about this place before!! I would love to order the seasonal veggie calzone! Yummmy! Thanks Tina!

  8. I gotta say the roast beef sounds pretty great and I would chase that with so gingerbread tea cakes… mmmmm. I’ll probably go to this place anyway, looks amazing!

  9. I just became a vegetarian so I’m eyeing the grilled vegetable salad. It’s hard being a vegetarian in New England and rarely is there more than pastas, tomato soup, plain garden salad and grilled cheese on a menu. Grilled veggies are calling my name! I’m also drooling over the Everything bar you got; it’s been ages since I had one and I always forget how much I LOVE them!

  10. I’d get something vegetarian like the calzone, and then something sweet, cupcake? there are so many choices!!!

  11. I’ve never tried Cakes, but I can’t wait. They’re opening a new location in Watertown by my house. I’m excited. I love cupcakes!

  12. This place looks delicious! I would definitely order the Black Forest Ham and Havarti sandwich. Probably an eclair for dessert or pumpkin tea cake (or both!).

  13. I’d order the roasted veggie and hummus wrap…and then for dessert the lemon shortbread. This place looks adorable. I’m definitely going to try out this spot.

  14. Could this place be any cuter? I NEED to get down to Milton to check it out! I’d totally order the chicken salad with grapes on sour dough. My stomach is rumbling just thinking about it.

  15. Is it possible to have one of everything?? If I have to choose, I think I’d go for the veggie calzone and a couple (hundred) peanut butter cup cupcakes!

  16. veggie hummus wrap…those are my favorite. then i would place a custom order of carrot cake cupcakes filled with coconut and topped with cream cheese frosting..mmm!
