Burning a Hole in My Pocket

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

Typically, I am one of those people who gets a gift card and spends it the very next day. But, lately, not so much. I am stockpiling them for no good reason.

For some reason, today’s beautiful weather inspired me to go shopping. So, all of a sudden, it felt like my plethora of gift cards were burning a hole in my pocket. They just wanted me to spend them, so I went to the Derby Street Shoppes to get my shop on.

I spent a solid two hours shopping at all of my favorite stores, including Williams-Sonoma.

Victoria Secret.

Banana Republic.

J.Crew, Lululemon, and a couple of others.

And”¦ I didn’t buy a single thing. Lame, huh? All of that work for nothing!! At least I got out of the house, right?

For lunch today, I ate the last of my leftover take-out from Lime Leaf. Damn, it was so delicious– even three days later. I love that place.

Lunch also included a Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie. In the mix:

I was famished when I returned home from shopping, so I immediately opened the fridge, chugged down the rest of a bottle of POM juice, and munched on some raw veggies. It was an emergency (hunger) situation.

Then, I threw together a salad with all sorts of veggies and leftovers from the fridge.

Once I finished my salad, I made a broiled banana with brown sugar, cinnamon, and scoop of Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Sauce, which melted all over the banana slices. Holy yum!

To make the broiled banana, I cut it in half lengthwise, placed it cut side up on a baking sheet, sprinkled it with brown sugar, and broiled it in the oven until the sugar started to bubble and the banana began to brown (about 3-5 minutes). Then, I removed it from the oven, sprinkled on some cinnamon, and added the chocolate sauce. OMG, delicious!!! This might become my new go-to sweet treat.

Off to relax. Enjoy the evening, guys!

  1. I am so bitter sweet when it comes to shopping. Sometimes I hate going out and never finding anything but then sometimes it is nice to just get out and stroll around.

  2. When ever i NEED something for a specific occasion or am trying to shop I can never find anything. If I am not trying to look for anything specific I always find stuff!!! I need to broil a banana stat.
