Guys, over the weekend, we discovered the best little brewery/taproom just 5 minutes from our house. Woohoo! Introducing: Burke's Alewerks!
FYI: The faded demin shirt that I'm wearing the photo above was a steal at Target!
The space is much bigger than I expected with all sorts of seating and even a fireplace area with couches, which were perfect for corralling tiny humans as you'll see below. We actually chatted with one of the employees about the space and he noted there aren't any televisions on the walls to encourage conversation among patrons. Love that!
And the beer is delicious! I don't drink a ton of beer nowadays (sadly, it kills my stomach), so Mal and I shared a tasting flight, and I really enjoyed them all, especially the porter and IPA.
The taproom currently has limited hours, but they plan to expand them in the coming months. Starting in April, Burke's will be open Thursday through Sunday. The weekend vibe is definitely kid-friendly, so I have a feeling we'll pop in every once in awhile.
Burke's serves a few non-alcoholic options (including Spindrift seltzers - love the cucumber flavor!) and, while they don't serve food, they are totally okay with you bringing your own. We brought snacks with us and there was even a group who ordered pizza.
Question of the Day
Are you beer drinker? If so, what's your current favorite?
P.S. My favorite funnel sweatshirt is on sale for just $57!
