Brrrrr… it got cold outside!! I must have jinxed myself by complimenting the beautiful fall weather in my previous post. Even with a big, puffy winter coat and a pair of gloves, I was still cold! šÆ
I’m SO not ready for winter. š
Mal came home from work right when Murphy and I were about to head out for our afternoon walk, so he joined us for an extra long adventure. Mal and I had a lot to talk about– house stuff, of course! š
Pugs are funny dogs! š
When we got home from our walk, I jokingly locked Mal out of the apartment (because I’m 5-years-old).
Locking him out actually turned into a (super nerdy) game to see who could “break” into the house. We both took turns trying.
My fingers weren’t long enough to unlock the latch, but Mal came really close a few times.
Mal and I play games like this all of the time… because we’re weird. š
Mal is making tuna melts for dinner tonight, so I’m in charge of setting up the DVR to watch our “programs.” I love low-key Friday nights like this. TGIF!

It has gotten SUPER cold in Japan very quickly. I don’t approve at all.
Your nerdy games are fun. My husband and I play stuff like that all the time. Except, he is usually the one being mean.
You three are super cute! I need a relaxing night too! My husband made dinner and is now playing with the boys! I hope you have a great night Tina!
Low key Fridays are what I wait for all week!
Good thing you are moving cause someone with superlong fingers might try to break in!
I saw someone jogging this morning with their PUG. It was hilarious. They were jogging and the pug was moving at superspeed to keep up with his little teeny legs.
Games like that are sooooo fun. We do little things like that all the time.
We planned a walk in the woods and I totally under-dressed. So we rescheduled. I don’t want to be an icicle.
Walk on a brisk fall day with a cute pug and fun games with your husband? What more could you ask for?
This is the type of Friday I’m hoping for when I get home š Anyone have a pug I can borrow?
hahaha how cute!! Games in relationships keep it fun. You two are cute š
LOL, what is with those gloves? Is that a East Coast thing? Are your fingers not freezing? Sorry, this struck me as so funny. After a week of computer problems, I am a little bit nutzo.
Low key Friday nights are the best! I would totally be caught playing a game like that! They keep life fun! : )
I do wish I wasn’t a whole country away from you, but I’m glad I don’t have a “real” winter coming this year š
It is the exact opposite here – it was 77* today! In IOWA! That is unheard of and very weird. But I loved it. š
I’m having a low-key Friday as well, getting ready to finally launch BodyPump 75 tomorrow! What did you think of the squat and back tracks? I don’t think I’m a huge fan. :/
Have a great relaxing night!
It’s cold in NYC all of a sudden too!! I don’t mind it too much for now, but come January I will not be a happy camper!!
Hope you enjoy your date night in!!
Oooh forgot it’s Friday! Whoo hoo!
I’m not ready for winter either! It’s been COLD in the mornings here.
I feel ya…this winter-ness is coming too fast! It makes me happy to be going out west soon!
You guys are adorable, really.
I hope no one knows where you live and tries this!!! š
I read, OFTEN, but I need to comment on this one! š
RE: “breaking” into your own house
This is funny and scary because, TRUE STORY – someone DID this to my sister and her roommate!
Their chain was too long on the lock that some one was able to put their fingers through the door like that and GET IN!
My sister and her roommate were convinced their house was haunted because they would come home from work and things around their apartment was moved around.. chairs on the table, etc.
I told them, NO WAY – let’s find the logical answer and that is what we came up with. After they had the apt mgmt change the chain lock.. no more “weird” thing happening around the apartment!
Get this though… the reason they drew the line was because one night when they were SLEEPING in the apartment.. they woke up to all of the cabinets open, chairs on the table, pictures turned upside down… FREAKY! Someone had broken in WHILE they were in there sleeping!
They did end up figuring out it was my sisters roommates ex boyfriend… VERY creepy!
Ok… novel over! š
I had such a big laugh over you locking Mal out of the apartment. That’s something I would to do to my boyfriend. I think it’s good to act like a 5 year old. There’s too much that we have to be serious about now.
My boyfriend and I do silly stuff like that too. Our thing is running around the house snapping each other with the dish towel š
Enjoy your evening.
I love mitten-gloves! And I love relaxing Friday evenings, also.
It’s freezing here, too. Feels like it could snow at any moment … ugh.
I really like your coat! What kind is it? I am always cold, so that looks perfect for winter.
Weird is what keeps the marriage alive. š
I’m in a sweatshirt for the first time tonight. It feels nice and cozy. I’m not ready for COLD cold though.
Enjoy your night! We’re about to enjoy the same kind of night after the husband finishes putting the wee one down.
you guys are too cute.
i love how BIG murphy is! he’s almost as big as my chow chow!
I love low key Friday nites also. It’s actually raining here in northern CA….looking forward to tortalini with butternut squash sauce, whole grain crusty bread and maybe our first fire in the fireplace of the season:) Cheers!
I love that picture of you holding Murphy; it is so cute!
You two are funny. I’m not ready for winter either! Planning a move to CA for next year š Seriously.
Too funny…my husband and I play “dumb”games all the time…no use acting older than 5 when you don’t have to, right?
@chandra: I think the squat track will grow on ya! It’s a bit long and sort of boring, but I don’t mind it so much anymore. The back track is blah. Not a fan!
@Lauren: Agreed! š
@Ramona: I bought it at J.Crew a couple of years ago.
Haha I love that you play weird games with Mal, every relationship has its oddities š
Haha. What an awesome game. I love low key nights. I’m catching up on DVR. Although part of that is because I work on Saturdays!
Jealous of your cold weather! Florida is still at 85 and sunny! A curse in disguise to some…But gotta love a low key Friday night! A fav of mine too!
hahaha love this post!
OK- here’s what’s going to happen. I’m going to put port-a-pug together, name him something ridiculous, like Cornelius, and then recreate every pic you post of Murphy with him. How creepy would that be? It’s going to happen. Just you wait.
Oh, and I love your gloves.
Zach and I do silly stuff like this all the time. We also play keep away with food š
Mmm! I’ve been on a tuna melt kick lately!
And I LOVE how you just referred to your fave tv shows as “programs” Ha!
That is totally something Jason and I would do — the lock each other out thing. Except I’m sure I would try for 2 seconds, get frustrated and whine “I don’t want to do this anymore!” I”m such a baby when I don’t “win”
Yes the weather was absolutely freezing today and the weekend isn’t looking promising – there is even a chance of wet snow! D: I guess I have to break out the gloves as well.
Aha, but after having only one summer in the past three years, I am *totally* ready for Summer to hit here in Australia! š What goes around comes around…
I’m a big fan of low-key Friday nights – it’s my favorite time to just relax after the long week! You and Mal are too funny! I love reading about all of your silly, down-to-earth stories š
Ahhh…. low key Friday nights are sometimes the best way to do it! We feel the chill in the air over here in San Diego too!
I’m so not ready for winter either! Ugh, I ran outside yesterday and I needed gloves and 2 layers. So long perfect fall running.
On a better note, you and your hubby are so dang cute!!! Sounds like a great Friday night in to me! š
omg – word. it turned freezing all of a sudden!
I couldn’t stop laughing when you said, “because I’m 5 years old.” I do stupid things like that all the time, my family thinks I have a brain of a 2 year old. HAHA!
Just checked out the Green Eyed Monster and LOVE their stuff. I think I’ll be doing some holiday shopping there…
The reusable produce bags are such a great idea! I’ll have to pick some of those up for myself š
Also a big fan of Mama Pea- recently tried her Blackberry Cinnamon Roll recipe which was delicious. Highly recommend it if you haven’t tried it already.
Ugh I don’t want winter to come either! I can’t stand being cold all the time! š
