Good news: my to do list is slowly shrinking! I spent all morning doing “blog-related” work then moved onto “household” tasks like unpacking, cleaning, and grocery shopping. I still need to write my Health post for this upcoming week and blog about my vacation (there’s LOTS more to come!), but I’m feeling pretty good about what I’ve already accomplished today! 😀
After grocery shopping (and saving $39.90 in coupons!), I was ready to eat lunch. (Btw, I hung the grocery receipt on the fridge! I’m still impressed!)
In my lunch mix:
- 6 oz. Stonyfield yogurt
- 1/2 cup Shredded Wheat cereal
- 1/2 pear diced
Check out my Carrots ‘N’ Cake customized bowl! So cool!
So, here’s how the special CNC bowl came into my life…
Post Foods is teaming up with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief charity, to help supply a balanced breakfast to struggling Americans through their “Bowls of Hope” program. For every box of Post Shredded Wheat purchased, the company will donate one bowl of cereal to Feeding America, up to 15 million bowls. The purchase of a “Bowls of Hope” specially-marked cereal will support Post’s efforts in donating a bowl of Post Shredded Wheat cereal to Feeding America. The program runs until December 31, 2009.
I’ve always loved Shredded Wheat cereal, so I was psyched when Post sent me a special Carrots ‘N’ Cake bowl and a full-size box of their Honey Nut Shredded Wheat cereal. I remember eating Shredded Wheat as a kid and waiting for them to completely absorb all of the milk before eating them. I used to love the “mush factor,” but now I prefer my Shredded Wheat crunchy.
Post is providing such a wonderful opportunity for others to give back, especially in such a challenging economic time, I definitely won’t hesitate to purchase a couple of extra boxes of Shredded Wheat on my next grocery shopping trip. I hope you will consider to do the same as well!
I mixed Stonyfield Pomegranate Berry-flavored yogurt with my Shredded Wheat and diced pear. The Pomegranate-Berry flavor was quite tasty. I liked its tartness!
Lunch was a delicious combo of ingredients, textures, and flavors. Having all of these elements in one meal seems to satisfy me physically and mentally. I love that!
My lunch was also perfect for fueling my afternoon workout. I’m off to pump some iron!
P.S. I’m celebrating my birthday with dinner and drinks with a few of my friends this evening, so I won’t be back until late tonight. I can’t believe my birthday celebration has continued for more than a week, but better celebrate late than never, right? 😉
