Newbie BlogHer advice: prepared to be overwhelmed!!

IMG_0009.JPG

BlogHer is quite overwhelming– a lot more so than I thought it would be. There’s so much to see and do, unlimited networking possibilities, and bloggers, brands, and sponsors everywhere. Holy moly! 😯

The day started with a buffet breakfast.

The breakfast buffet didn’t have a ton of healthy options, but I made due. I’ll eat anything (except for Red Bull).

I loaded my plate up with fresh fruit and a croissant egg sandwich. I also grabbed a banana.

And, of course, I had some coffee with milk and sugar.

This year, the two-day BlogHer conference includes 28 pre-programmed breakout sessions based on feedback from bloggers. I’m pretty much attending one session from each of the seven tracks, so I hope I have the bases covered. 😉

After breakfast, the Expo Halls opened. The Expo Halls include zillion different sponsored booths with samples, activities, giveaways, product info, and more. Overwhelming, indeed.

My first stop in the Expo Hall was at the Eggland’s Best booth. EB has a fun slot machine where bloggers can test their luck and win prizes.

Say ‘hi’ to Anthony! He’s the social media guru at Eggland’s Best.

My next stop was the SoyJoy booth where I tried their newest flavor: Banana! 😀

The banana flavor actually tasted a lot like banana bread– subtly sweet and slightly moist.

The breakout sessions are next. Time to get my learn on!

  1. I have a travel story that will beat yours, it includes losing two people who got off the train to get a snack during a prolonged stop (they left their stuff with us, passports, money & all)- did I mention this train was in Italy? oh yea. losing 2 people on the way to Venice (eventually found them- luck!?), no means of communication, then finding out there was NO PLACE TO STAY in Venice bc of a convention in town. we thought we’d stay up and party all night but nope, bars & casinos close at 3am. From then on we slept in the streets of Venice- which are nasty!- while it rained (and it was cold! so we dog-piled it) and then the floor of the train station. thankfully it was only a 1 night trip. long story short. anyway, think of that next time you have travel woes. 🙂

  2. oops! just realized I commented on the wrong post! was wondering why there were no other stories! haha, oh well.
