Welcome to our Blog Bake Sale to raise money for Team In Training!
As you probably know, Mal and I are training to run the Honolulu Marathon in December with Team In Training. We’ve already raised more than $2,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (thanks to many of you!), but we know we can still do better. Our goal is $12,000!!
I hope your sweet tooth is ready for this!!! Listed below are nearly 50 delicious treats, contributed by CNC readers, which are ready to be bid on and shipped straight to you to enjoy! π
Before you start bidding, please review the Rules & Logistics. All funds raised from the Blog Bake Sale will go directly to Team in Training to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Please remember there is a minimum bid of $15 on each item and all bids must be emailed to CNCBAKESALE@GMAIL.COM with the item you are bidding on in the subject line. Bids left in the comments section will not be counted.
I will update the βΛbid section’ on the bottom of this post throughout the day, so you can see which items are currently being bidded on and what the highest bid is. Bidding for the Blog Bake Sale will run from now until this evening, Tuesday, September 14 at 11:59 EST. I will announce the winners tomorrow morning.
A few quick reminders:
- There is a minimum bid of $15 on each item.
- All bids must be emailed to CNCBAKESALE@GMAIL.COM.
- All baked goods (except two) are open to US residents. A few of the baked goods are open to US and Canadian bidders, US and all international bidders, and just European bidders. I specified the shipping details below each baked good, but if you have questions, please let me know.
- The funds from winning bids must be posted to our TNT fundraising page within 24 hours of receiving the winning confirmation email or next bidder automatically wins.
- Winning bidders can expect to have their product shipped out within three (3) days of the bake sale as long as shipping address is received promptly.
Ok, I think that’s it. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Ashley’s Super Charge Me Cookies
Andrea’s Congo Bars
These are the best cookies I’ve ever tasted. There. I know, that was quite frightening. I’m terrified of words like “never,” phrases ending in “ever,” and all things set in stone. But when it comes to these chewy squares, I’m brazen.
Congo bars. Thick, buttery squares of ultra-chewy brown sugar dough studded with rich white chocolate, threaded with flaked coconut, and smoky toasted pecans. One bite is a melting, gritty mouthful of luscious flavor and varied texture.
Andrea’s Chocolate Toffee Almond Bars
These itty bitty squares will try to fool you. They will sit, innocent and gentle as a butterfly, on your countertop. They will tickle your nose with a rich, toffee aroma. You will lift one, sticky fingers and all, and raise it to your lips. Bite. Teeth sinking into sweet milky butterscotch, crunching through toasty almonds, a note of gooey fudge detected by your wisest taste bud, the gummy chew of buttery oat-graham crust. Sweetness, intensity, rush.
That one square inch of toffee almond oblivion will make you forget about your ever-growing to do list, your laundry pile, and the fact that summer is almost over. You may also forget about showering and paying the bills. At which point you should call Dr. Drew.
Maria’s Lemon Drop Cookies
I love that these cookies are bite size and full of lemon flavor. I used a lot of zest, fresh lemon juice, and they even got drizzled with a lemon glaze. You can never have too much lemon if you ask me. The more I pucker up, the better!
