Blast from the Past: M & T 1998

Some of you may know this already, but Mal and I were “high school sweethearts.” We dated in high school, back in 1998. I was a senior and he was a freshman– it was actually quite scandalous, especially in our small school! We broke up when I went off to college that fall, but we kept in touch over the years.

In 2003, Mal contacted me to go out, and we’ve been together ever since. I guess it was just meant to be!  😉 I hope you enjoy these oldies, but goodies from our early years as a couple! (Yay, for scanners!!!)

My last day of high school, June 1998

Graduation Day, June 5, 1998

(The only reason that I remember the exact date of my high school graduation is because there was a Dave Matthews Band concert that same day, and I really wanted to go!)

(Double chin and braces… boy, we were cute!)

  1. How cute, my boyfriend and I have a similar story, we met Freshmen year of high school and became good friends, junior year we started dating, broke up like 6 months later and got back together 2 years later, we’ve been together 4 years. I always say we were meant to be.

  2. WOW!!! this is exactly like my older sister and her husband (they got married sept 2007)– they started dating senior year of hs so they have some classic pics!!!! you and mal have both “grown up” so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. OMG I love the throwback pics! They’re too cute. Me & my guy are high school sweethearts too, and the old pics are always so fun to look at.

  4. Tina, this post is soooo precious. i smiled the entire time, you two are so special, and it gives me hope that my high school boyfriend and i can stay together through college. he is really important to me and i want to spend my life with him! any tips on long distance??

  5. So cute! My fiance and I have been together since 2002 and even now looking back at some of the pics we look so young!
Looks like Mal was still the same goofy guy back then! 🙂

  6. @Lee (seelivelee): This is going to sounds a little strange, but just enjoy your time at college with him in mind. For instance, don’t get down and depressed when you miss him– go out with your friends and have fun. Of course, try to visit one another when you have time, but live your life to the fullest– it’s what college is all about! If it was meant to be, it will be! 🙂
