I’m so glad to be back with my guys! I missed them so much!
This afternoon, Mal and I bundled up and took Murphy to the dog park. The weather was bright and sunny, but really chilly!
As soon as we arrived, Murphy took off running. He was psyched for pug play time at the park!
Murphy played.
He ran.
He explored the beach with Dad.
He pondered life while overlooking the ocean.
And he made a weird face when posing for a photo with Mom.
All in all, it was a good day at the park!

My husband and I are looking to adopt a pug- seeing Murphy every day in your blog makes me have pug-envy!
@Jules: I got a pug because of Murphy. She is a rescued pug and it was the best decision I’ve ever made as far as a pet. Pugs are bundles of love.
So cute! That face melts my heart š
Aww so cute! I love taking our dog to the dog park!
What a beautiful day! Looks like Murphy really enjoyed it.
How nice to be home with your two guys š
Murphy looks hilarious in that first photo on Mal’s lap. What a face!
Looks like you had a nice reunion! It was sunny but quite chilly in DC today, too. So nice to meet you Saturday (finally!)
Family reunions are the best :D.
Nothing like being home with the hubby and pups to make a girl smile š
Adorable! š
Murphy looks like he’s in dog heaven!
How fun! It does look like a beautiful day there-lucky š
I love your dog!! I see Murphy is wearing a prong collar. Is that to keep him from pulling when you walk him? If so, have you tried any of the anti-pull harnesses? Gentle leader makes a great product, though I suspect it may not work with Murph’s nose š Another good one is Sense-ation no pull harness
Your pup is just too cute. I love when you blog about your adventures with him.
I’ll second the Gentle Leader – we’ve used them on several of our big, strong dogs and they’re wonderful! My mom’s young labrador does have a prong collar, used during her obedience training – but with the rubber tips, so it doesn’t pinch as much.
@Elizabeth: We already tried that collar, but it cut up Murphy’s armpits from him pulling so much. š The pinch collar works amazing!
@Tina: poor pup. If you want to give it another try, you can put moleskin on the parts that rub on his skin.
Just make sure to take the prong collar off if he finds a friend to romp with. That goes for all collars. I once saw a small dog almost strangled to death when he got his collar hooked on a big dog at the dog park. The collar was so tight they couldn’t get it off. Frightening. My dogs now wear these when they play with others. BREAK AWAY COLLAR

My mother calls our cats her children and I find it kind of disturbing…but here are you and your husband doing the same thing š
Aaww, it look like you had a nice afternoon with your guys š
Awww, I am sure they were BOTH excited to have you back! š What a wonderful afternoon.
i miss my doggie š murphy is so cute!
What a great afternoon! B & I just got back from a bike ride. 63* n sunny š
it’s always exciting having a pet to walk, it’s an adventure for all.
Yay for play time with your baby! I love those pincher collars – Charlie is a different dog when he’s wearing one on a walk!
hahah! the running pug face is too cute!
Such cute photos!!! Glad you had a great day š
What a way to reunite! I can’t wait until the weather is warm enough for me to walk my doggie in the park! š
Can’t believe how big Murphy is these days! Still as cute as ever though š
Awwww so sweet! I know they missed you just as much! Its fun to travel, but no place like home!
Murphy makes me want to run out and get a pug. š
Love the first photo! Beyond cute!
Poor Murphy! I’ve soon so many dogs with cuts and punctures on their necks from pinch collars. Do you keep the rubber/plastic tips on the prongs?
aww i bet your boys missed you just as much, if not more š
Looks like the perfect day! Welcome home!
How is that collar working? I was thinking about it for my dog cause she pulls too much!
I love a good day at the park š On my trail run today there were a TON of dogs, which always brightens up those four miles!
What a fun family reunion! I bet they’re happy to have you back! š
So happy you made it home safe and sound and back to your boys!
And it just struck me at how AWESOME it is that you and Mal can just hang out together in the middle of the day at a park…wow! What an amazing gift š That is just so….special!
I bet they’re just as happy you’re back with them, too!! Glad you three had a good day out. š
PLEASE, stop using that Pinch collar. That is so cruel. Find yourself a good trainer if you are unable to get Murph under control. Murph deserves better than that.
@Dynamics: Used properly they are perfectly safe. Not the best solution, but sometimes when you’ve gone through everything else and you find something that works you stick with it. A prong collar used properly is far better for a dog them leaving them at home because they don’t cooperate on walks.
Big hugs for Murphy from my beagle girls.
Glad you all are reunited! I can’t wait to get a puppy! Hurry up graduation so I can make it happen!! š
What a perfect pug day!
Aww… I always miss my pup when I go away. I was in Norway a couple of weeks ago and missed her so much!
š ! Murphy always makes me smile!
Murphy seriously could not be any cuter! I just want to hug him! š
awww, i love your little family! murphy is tooooo cute!
everytime i get together with my dog and hubby again i have “reunited and it feels so good” going through my head
oh my gosh, Murphy is just too cute in that first picture!!
Oh, he looks so happy to have you home! It was a beautiful day today despite the chilly weather. š
Looks like Murphy had a great time at the dog park! Prong collars are such a topic of interest these days…they work perfectly fine if used correctly, which it looks like you are doing with Murphy!
yay! What a fun afternoon! I love doggy play time!
Your puppy posts make me have dog envy! Looks like so much fun š
Pugs aren’t supposed to wear collars. Get him a proper harness.
I had to put my puppy down last Friday… it was the SADDEST thing ever and yesterday was the first day I was able to get through without crying.
I LOVE seeing photos of Murphy, he makes me smile every day. Thanks for sharing him with all of us! Now I appreciate him even more
