Bright and early this morning, Mal and I met our TNT team for a run around South Boston. (It was Mal’s first run since the marathon!) None of us registered for a spring event with Team In Training; we just wanted to keep the team alive, so we’re informally training for the Run to Remember Half Marathon in May.
Bill, the owner of the South Boston Running Emporium, kindly let us use his store for our meetingĀ place once again. The store was hopping today! Now that the weather is getting warmer, a lot of different running groups meet there too.
Since Mal and I running a 5K tomorrow, we saved our legs and did a quick 3-mile loop around Southie. I kept up with Mal for the first 1.5 miles running an insane 7:27 pace, but I lost steam on one of the steep hills. Even still, it was fun to run fast!
After our run, we headed straight to P.S. Gourmet for iced coffee. This is my favorite part of running in South Boston!
As soon as I walked inside, I noticed a bunch of new flavors on the blackboard, including Blondie iced coffee.
Oh my goodness, it tasted just like a Blondie!!! I slugged it down in the car before we even arrived home. Now, I want another one.
At home, I refueled with an egg white patty covered in buffalo sauce on a piece of whole wheat toast with melted sharp cheddar. Perfect. It hit the spot.
I’m spending the rest of the afternoon with my mom and sister. We’re getting facials and then cooking an Irish dinner together.
Happy Saturday!

Mmm that iced coffee sounds so good!
Have a great day with your mom and sister!
Good on you for still getting out there to run on a saturday, whenever the weekend hits I always lose steam! BUT because of your post, I am getting out to workout today, thanks for the motivation. Have an amazing facial, and can’t wait to see this irish dinner!
These iced coffees you get sound amazing. The flavors are genius! I wish I had that place near me.
I’m spending my Saturday with my sisters and mom, too! Hope you have a great visit with them š
I still cannot believe how fast Mal can run! That boy is nuts!
Blondie coffee sounds unbelievable!
Hi Tina!
You have probably done a post on this before, but I was wondering if you could talk a little about how you cool down after a run. Do you walk a bit and then stretch? Or just stretch? I am a beginning runner and I am unsure of how to cool down properly–I really don’t want to hurt myself!
Thanks, and have a great weekend!
Way to go on keeping up with Mal for the first bit! That’s crazy fast!
Looks like a great run! And sounds like an awesome rest of the day!
Enjoy the rest of your Saturday! It sounds like you’re off to a great start.
Holy Blondie Cake Coffee ?!! My mouth is watering…
Blondie iced coffee sounds like heaven!
Ooooo… what does an Irish dinner look like? That sounds delicious š
blondie coffee does sound phenom! And go you on that fast pace!
I am seriously so jealous of the coffee in Boston. I need to make a trip one of these days just so I can try all of the different places. Blondie coffee? Holy crap.
This morning was great for running! I can’t wait for the continuous warm weather. š
Sounds like a fun day with the fam…I’m thinking I should try my hand at making chocolate stout cupcakes for St. Paddy’s! And as much as I don’t drink coffee, blondie sounds GOOD!
Wow~An Irish dinner~I so would love to try that! Have a great day Tina š
what a fun saturday! it makes me miss my mom and sister though š I live in New Zealand, they live in Philadelphia. it’s a bit far….
have fun getting your facials and i would have had seconds on the Blondie iced coffee š
A blondie iced coffee?! You know, I’ve never been a fan of coffee..but have actually *kind* of been considering trying it. Then I thought about how it’s warming up so it’s kind of a bad time to get into it now..until I remembered how much you love iced coffee and maybe I could get into it, too!
That’s awesome that you kept up with your speedy husband for 1.5 miles!!
I don’t even LIKE coffee, but you make me want an iced coffee š
I would love to join a running group. I was always skeptical before I started reading your great experience with TNT and now I’m dying to get involved.
Woo hoo! How fun!!! š
What a great run, it sounds like!! š Running fast is THE best. Have fun with your sis and momma!
Getting a facial sounds divine (as does that Blondie coffee)!!!! Have a great Saturday!
I’m pretty sure you and I have the same taste buds. My mouth is watering at both the Blondie coffee and the eggs with buffalo sauce!
You look so happy with your iced coffee!
Blondie iced coffee??? Are you kidding me? Sounds amazeballs. I think I need that in my life!
One day I’ll track down a recipe for buffalo sauce and then I’ll make it, and this. One day.
I can’t wait to hear about your Irish dinner – I need inspiration for my Irish dinner tomorrow night! Hope you had (are having) a great night!
Wow, I really need a blondie iced coffee
I’d love an iced coffee and a run right now. But coffee does not agree with my tummy and I’m nursing shin splits so no running just yet. I miss it.
