Hi, guys!

So, I was talking to some of my blog buddies the other day about “live” blogging. Remember the days? Us OG bloggers would publish posts within hours of something happening in our lives. I remember staying up super late after events just to write a blog post so it happened to “real” time. It was such a different time in the world of blogging (before Instagram!), but sometimes I miss it.

I think about all of the Instagram stars, incredible recipe developers and photographers, and every kind of expert out there, and I honestly can’t complete with them. I mean, I started CNC as a personal journal to keep me on track with healthy eating and exercise. I basically just “do me” on this blog – for better or worse – and don’t want to try to be something (someone?) that I’m not. I’m kind of rambling here, but I’m thinking about bringing back the live style of blogging – at least a few days a week. Truthfully, it kind of takes the pressure off because I can just be me and share whatever is on my mind or happening in my life at the time. I know I won’t publish 3 times a day like I used to, but I’d like to share more “day in the life” blog posts. I hope you guys like the change, and we’ll see how it goes and whether it’ll stay for the long term. With that, here’s a little recap of my day so far! 🙂

I was up and at ’em at 5:01 AM this morning to squeeze in some work. I love having my boys home during the summer, but, man, I get nothing done on the work front. I always feel guilty if I’m working when they’re home, so I try to be present with them as much as possible. The work will always be there, right? 😉

I worked for a couple of hours and then threw on my sneakers for a run around the neighborhood. I’m running the Falmouth Road Race with Health Warrior again, so I’m working on getting my mileage back up. Unfortunately, I felt like absolute garbage and called it quits after 3 miles (technically, 2.89). Running was just not happening this morning, so I didn’t force it. My body was definitely telling me something. Oh, well. I’ll try again later this week.

FYI: In recent times I’ve traded in my beloved Glycerin for the Launch, which are a lighter and more energized shoe. I’m liking them a lot more for shorter runs!

After my run, I was a sweaty mess – it was super humid this morning – so Murphy licked me to death. I must have tasted especially delicious this morning!

After that, I showered and reheated a piece of Potato & Black Bean Enchilada Casserole, which I topped with an egg and chunks of avocado. It was SO DARN DELICIOUS! I’ll be sure to share the recipe soon – it’s so easy to make and awesome for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

After lunch, I hopped on a Skype call with the lovely ladies (Taylor and Salah) of The Trillest Podcast. I actually just discovered their podcast when they reached out about me being on it, and now I am an instant fan. They love everything that I do – CrossFit, running, Orangetheory, healthy eating, hormones, Girls Gone WOD podcast, and Salah is a new mom. We had tons in common! The episode will be out in early September, so I’ll be sure to let you guys know when it’s live. In the meantime, be sure to check out their podcast!
