Who were you back in 1994?
I was 13-years-old about to turn fourteen. I was in the 7th grade. I played the flute. I hated math.Ā I liked ballet, soccer, and art class.Ā I also had an impeccable fashion sense. (Clearly, I couldn’t dress myself.)
1994 really doesn’t seem that long ago, right? Well, for Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric, it’s been a very long time. The clip below shows the two of them trying to explain the Internet. I thoughtĀ this videoĀ was hilarious and just had to share!
Workout
After breakfast, I headed to the gym for a Body Pump class. We ended up doing Body Pump 74 in its entirety instead of the new release. I know a lot people don’t like doing the old releases, but I love it! It’s like hanging out with an old friend again. Although, I forgot how damn long that squat track is! My legs were en fuego by the end! šÆ
Lunch
After Body Pump, I returned home and immediately reheated lunch. I was famished!
I ate leftover Asian Rice Noodle and Shrimp Soup, which tasted a zillion times better today because all of the flavors had time to soak in overnight.
After lunch, I took a little break and enjoyed a hot mug of tea and a piece of banana bread.
Snack
A little while later, I got back to work and snacked on a Granny Smith Apple.
Which I ate to the core.
And just now, I ate two halves of a toasted English muffin with almond butter spread on top… and, somehow, I could still eat.
I swear, Body Pump makes me hungrier than usual!
Bonus Question of the Day
Who were you back in 1994? What was happening in your life then?

Oh. My. Goodness. I had that floral dress! I wore it to my Valentine’s dance! Holy cow, I’d totally forgotten about that velvety outfit, and I have a weird thing about texture of velvet, and I remember discovering this aversion the night I wore the dress, so I was conscious about not touching myself because I hated how it felt!
At this time in 1994 I was still in 5th grade… and anxiously waiting for my mom to give birth to my little brother! (He was born in March.)
I totally took my class back old school today and did a mix of releases 72 & 73. The majority of our club members don’t like doing the new release for longer than a couple weeks! We have to switch it up or they complain. š
oh my goodness! i saw that on the today show this morning and couldn’t quit laughing about it! it’s crazy how the internet developed so quickly!!
Wow. In 1994 I was graduating High School. God I feel old..lol
In 1994, I was in college. And oh how I wish the internet was as big back then as compared to what it is today – I actually had to go to the library. š I hope kids today realize how lucky they are to have so much info right at their fingertips. I am majorly jealous. It would have made school so much easier.
I was 1! (I’m 17 now!)
In 1994, I was 6 years old. I was in grade 2 (because I was a smarty and got ‘accelerated’ from kindergarten to grade 1 in the same year), I played soccer with a bunch of my friends, I liked making crafts with anything and everything, I LOVED Full House and secretly pretended I had a twin just like Mary Kate & Ashley.. oh ya, I was a cool 6 year old alright!! š
I love vintage Tina! I was in the 8th grade rocking hair that was way too out of control. I love the video you posted. I saw it yesterday and thought it was hysterical to see how far we’ve come in such a short amount of time!
OMG, someone that commented above was 1. That makes me feel really old. I was 15 in Jan of 1994.
What I find even odder than them not knowing about the internet is Katie Couric’s hair.
In January 1994, I was starting my last semester in college and trying to decide what to do as I applied to medical school. In so many ways it feels forever ago. And in many ways seems like just yesterday.
I was starting my 2nd semester of college but wishing I wasn’t where I was. š I was pretty overwhelmed but that seems like a million years ago even though 1994 doesn’t seem that long ago. Hmmm…anyways…I remember thinking all my friends getting email addresses were weird. Eventually, I got on the email bandwagon and then tried to explain to my dad how he and I could communicate for free! It was revolutionary!
In 1994 I was starting University again… I had taken time off to be and Au Pair in Germany and had just returned to Canada to get my life together. It was a major transition time for me.
OH… in 1994 I was a sad case. I was in 4th grade, prepubescently chubby, had long stringy red hair and HUGE glasses. I was so dorky. Whenever I see pictures of me from that time in my life I just feel really bad for that person. AKA… me in 4th grade. Glad those days are over!
Weight lifting always makes me want to eat more too!! I am legitimately more hungry on days I lift. In 1994 I was second grade – weird.
memories!!! I was 13 turning 14, about graduate 8th grade and start high school in the fall!
omg! HYSTERICAL video!
In 1994 I was 5 years old and I’m pretty sure I had a floral dress very similar to that one haha. š
Weights always turn me into a bottomless pit too!
oh my gosh! THAT IS the funniest thing. Looking back is nuts.
I was in pre-k in 1994 š
That video made me laugh so hard!
I was 9 and still wearing layered skirts with ruffle socks and jellies!! Oh, and of course the side ponytail with crimps in it.
1994. i was wearing cutoff denim shorts. over red long johns. in public. argh.
I was just about 20 years old, happily at Amherst College in your beautiful state, postponing adulthood. š The internet basically was a non entity, and my bf and I wrote letters! Good times. That was the last time I was a runner, and I am currently training for the National half. If it ever defrosts. Yikes!
I my gosh haha, that video is hilarious! 1994 feels like yesterday… hard to believe the internet is so young. I don’t know what I’d do without it!
Great photo! I especially love the Blossom-style hat š
for most of 1994, I was 12 and played the trombone in band, won first place in storytelling at the state forensics meet, and learned modern dance. It’s crazy to think that was 17 years ago!
back in 1994 i was wearing plaid and bumping to snoop dogg, dr dre and their crew! Regulators, mount up! LOL, ah, memory lane!
I was a bubbly 5-year-old :o)
I was only 3 years old in 94′, so life was probably very easy and carefree! I can’t believe this video though!! Wow–I had to share it on my FB page! š
Oh my goodness, that’s hilarious! Granted, back in ’94 I was a new big sister and hadn’t yet started school.
This time 1994, I was probably anxiously awaiting my third birthday (March!), while trying to adjust to having a baby sister (born the middle of January). And also celebrating my mom’s birthday, probably. š
That clip is hilarious. I also was 13, and about as awkward as you in that Blossom dress! I also remember I got my first cd- a huge deal! The band? Ace of Base.
OK, I officially feel old, lol! I turned 25 in 1994, and started graduate school.
It doesn’t FEEL like 17 years!!!!!!!!
